We recently received a notification on our Wall that General Motors was in a relationship with Facebook. Well, that’s not entirely how we found out, but it doesn’t change the fact that The General and The Face are doing advertising business again, starting with a mobile phone campaign.
As part of the “Find New Roads” campaign, Chevrolet will be the brand that will ease the GM back into the Facebook advertising pool, beginning with an industry-first “mobile-only” pilot campaign for the Sonic subcompact. The move is yet another reversal of a Joel Ewanick-era marketing decision that happened in the past year, leading up to Ewanick’s high-profile departure as GM’s global chief marketing officer.
