Despite winning the race last year, the Corvette Racing team looked onto the podium to see their rivals from BMW and SRT celebrating after placing fourth and fifth at the 2013 Long Beach Grand Prix in Long Beach, California. The No. 55 BMW Z4 GTE won the race in the GT Class, followed by the No. 56 BMW Z4 GTE, and the No. 91 SRT Viper GTS-R. The No. 4 Corvette C6.R piloted by Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner came in fourth, leaving the No. 3 C6.R driven by Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen in fifth.
Unofficially, Chevrolet and BMW share the Manufacturers’ Standings with 34 points apiece.
The team’s 2013 American Le Mans Series season resumes on May 9-11 with the ALMS Monterey at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca — a race Gavin and Milner won last year.
