Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, Ford Mustang GT Get In Shouting, Smoking Match: Video

Up here in Michigan, it’s still cold. Over the weekend, it was maybe thirty degrees, but that didn’t stop a huge turnout at the local “Cars, Coffee & Karts” event. It’s just like all the other Cars & Coffee grassroots events that go on elsewhere around the country, but in the parking lot of an indoor kart racing track. So after you’re done gawking that Lamborghini Diablos, Nissan Pulsars, R32 Nissan Skylines, and Ford Focus RS’ (just to name a few gems from last weekend, along with an appearance by Ralph Giles in an SRT Viper), kart racing is readily available.

Also present was a black Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, and a Ford Mustang 5.0 GT, where after the event, decided to hoon around a bit. Tire smoke? Check. Engine noise? Very much so.

  1. I like ‘dat wagon, I hate the way the Mustang “squints” at you along with its cheap plastic grille.

  2. Cool. Bud dumb. But cool.

  3. Lol Michael, the Mustang’s grille isn’t any more cheap or plastic than the Camaro’s.

  4. There is a little more to the story than just two people doing burnouts. The driver of the 5.0 Mustang GT is in Program Management for Ford SVT. The driver of the CTS-V Wagon is a GM Powertrain Engineer.

Doesn’t the V Wagon make the Mustang look like a little bitchtoy? The V has such presence in it’s stance.

    1. It’s also the same CTS-V Wagon that suffered a freak airbag explosion during an auto cross event. I see that car at the local meets a lot. Also a certain blue G8 GXP.

      1. Would the certain blue GXP be yours? lol 🙂

          1. haha true that! I almost bought a G8 GT but opted for the less potent but more lux 08 CTS with the 3.6.
I have a sneaking suspicion though, that come August my CTS will be getting swapped for a Coupe and my Mazda6 will be sold before winter, I’m thinking an obscure toy to replace it.. Google ‘Bombardier iltis’. Very rugged and moderately capable little diesel. Im not sure what would be more fun, busting down the highway with the windshield folded down getting stares from other motorists, or ripping around on the family farm

            1. That WOULD turn heads. If I had that I’d be beating up a yard like it insulted my mother. My little wishlist consists of a Jeep CJ-7, Chevy C-10 and/or a rat rod.

  5. Betcha. The coming CTS-V and ATS-V will blow our socks off. Mercedes and BMW don’t understand what’s gonna happen. LOL

IMHO an ATS Shooting Brake makes sense rather than a CTS. I wanna see an “Eldorado” type coupe as part of the new CTS family.

And have you guys seen the Opel Casada convertible? A new Buick in the making. A Buick convertible – 2.0 turbo/6 speed manual? Uh huh. Way more class than a Mustang.

  6. The Cadillac looks like a funeral car. Made to carry a casket.
