Ad Break: Beware Of Over-The-Shoulder Window Watchers In The Chevy Spark

This rather peculiar commercial for the 2013 Chevy Spark highlights one of the coolest features of the vehicle: the MyLink infotainment system’s LCD touchscreen that’s capable of playing movies from a USB port. The GM Authority Take

Hurdy Gurdy, eh? Interesting choice of instruments. No matter, quick, short, and to-the-point commercials such as this one are a great way to call attention to a specific feature of a vehicle — and this one does it masterfully. Now, every kid in the market for a vehicle who happens to see this ad will know that they can watch the latest episode of Archer or the latest class lecture they happened to have missed — all in their Chevy Spark. At this point, who needs a dorm when you can have a Spark with the full-color MyLink screen?

    1. @Kid I personally don’t (mine are on my iPhone), but I know a few who do. I think all the cool kids are doing it, nowadays. 🙂

      1. Shouldn’t it work on your iPhone too Alex? The vehicle doesn’t know the difference between a USB Drive and a phone…

        1. That depends on what the source of the video on the iPhone is.

If it’s a web stream, it might work; but I doubt it will for locally-stored video content purchased iTunes thanks to the DRM. I’ll have to try it and see.
