Chevrolet ceremoniously handed over the keys of 33 Hot Wheels Camaro convertibles to the 33 directors of the Indianapolis 500 Festival at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The hand off has been a tradition since the ’60’s, and leads to May’s Indy 500, or what some like to refer to as: “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
The very limited-run Hot Wheels Chevy Camaro is just beginning to hit dealerships, and is offered in the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS version, as well as their respective convertible variants. It’s also the first time Hot Wheels partnered with any automaker to badge a road-legal vehicle.

I got to go out in a Hot Wheels Camaro last week. Photo’s do not do justice for this color.
It is a shame it will only be offered on this limited model only.
Chevy needs a good blue like this.
Went to the video link, awesome car. That blue is just plain amazing.
Scott, Paul, could agree more that there should be this or a close shade of blue available for any Camaro.
Saw one at the NY Auto Show- cool, but you almost need sunglasses to look at the thing!
I was shocked to see this used as the Indy Pace Car. Just as well use this as anything else.
I wonder if they will offer the graphics package with the convertibles to the owner if they want to put them on.
The only thing wrong with the Hot Wheels package is the price. Just for the wheels, emblems, graphics and paint it is a $6999 option. The large wheels and tires are not cheap. But then the price will keep this a very limited option for those lucky enough to buy one.
