2015 Heavy Duty Trucks Spied With Different Exhaust Tips, Indiana Plates

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty trucks have been spotted a lot recently, along with its twin, the GMC Sierra HD. And the latest spy photos reveal that the trucks are currently testing with different exhaust tips, and one of them — most likely the diesel one from its tailpipe design — is testing with an Indiana license plate, rather than the traditional Michigan manufacturer’s plate. The photos can be found on PickupTrucks.com.

Looking into things, it’s apparent that Allison Transmission has a facility just outside Indianapolis. GM also has a truck assembly plant in Fort Wayne, which builds GM full-sized trucks. Though it could be that Allison is testing the camouflaged truck with an all-new transmission, and could be holding the vehicle at the facility. The exhaust design, on the other hand, could just be a differentiation between the gas-powered and Duramax diesel-powered variant. Look for the Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks to launch next year.

  1. For the record, Fort Wayne builds many different full size truck models. My new 3500HD was built there.

  2. They also may be looking for a place to test where no one is looking.

    Not a big deal here.

If anything it may have more to do with a heavy duty tranny than anything.
