Chevrolet has released model-year changes for the 2014 Cruze, and let us tell you — they are minimal. For starters, it seems that the mild styling updates seen on the 2013Â Korean-spec model aren’t in the cards for the North America-market 2014 Cruze, which is either a good thing, or a bad thing — depending on whether or not you like the updates to the Korean Cruze, or not.
Regardless, the official changes for 2014 include some color adjustments, with four existing colors replaced by four new colors, along with the addition of the Cruze Turbo Diesel model. Outside of that, the (RXZ) cruise control accessory kit, an LPO for the LS trim level, gets deleted, while the RPO code is changed (from W1Y to UC3)Â for the steering wheel-mounted audio and phone interface controls.
Here’s the official RPO change list as per GM:
2014 Cruze Deletions
- (GGT) Autumn Metallic exterior color
- (GTS) Blue Topaz Metallic exterior color
- (GCN) Victory Red exterior color
- (GBV) Cyber Gray Metallic exterior color
- (RXZ) Cruise control accessory kit, LPO on LS
2014 Cruze New Features
- (1PY69) Diesel model with (1SL) automatic transmission equipment group, includes 2.0L Diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, 3.20 final drive ratio axle, 140 amp alternator, 800 cold-cranking amps battery, 17″ alloy wheels, Ultra low rolling resistance all-season tires, tire sealant and inflator kit, rear spoiler, Aero Performance Package and leather-appointed seating
- (G7C) Red Hot exterior color
- (G7J) Rainforest Green Metallic exterior color
- (GXG) Tungsten Metallic exterior color
- (GXH) Blue Ray Metallic exterior color
2014 Cruze Changes
- Steering wheel-mounted audio and phone interface controls RPO changed from (W1Y) to (UC3)
The GM Authority Take
The 2014 Cruze will likely be the last model year of the first-generation Delta-based compact vehicle, as the all-new D2XX-based model will likely come to market as a 2015 model year vehicle. Major product offensive for the win!

So will cruise now be standard on all Cruzes?
^^ lol at that. Looks like it won’t be available on base LS… It was available aftermarket, but now its just not.
Can’t understand why the Korean Cruze has had a face lift (MY2013) and the Us version not , GM works in mysterious way’s , does Europeans and Asians have different tastes than American’s , I don’t know ….it puzzles me …
Not a fan of the fangs in the Korean update. They look tacked on; not incorporated. I think it it will be worth waiting on the next version.
Wrong direction GM! This car is a very good product, but it hasn’t been significantly updated since it’s introduction here in 2008!
Young drivers attracted to the brand will look for more updated brands elsewhere and might grow with those brands. Chevy has got to keep up with the market.
If you know usually a car has a span production of 5+ years so changing the cruze less than that isn’t as profitable
No improvements to the power trains at all? Same crappy seats? No sale.
Byebye GM
@jimbo the powertrain improvements were always known to be coming for the all-new 2015 model… including the all-new 1.6T Ecotec. However, the 2014 Cruze does get the new diesel model, so that is a powertrain “improvement”…

Now, what about the seats is crapy to you?
The diesel will sell maybe 1,000 per year.
The gas engines needed improvement. The 1.8L is garbage and never should have been offered in the first place. The 1.4T is barely adequate to move the weight of the Cruze. It should have been made DI or we should be given the 2.4L option that’s in the base Verano. Not updating it because a new car is coming over a year from now is just proving that New GM=Old GM.
The seats are hard as a rock, are not deep enough or wide enough and have no lumbar controls. My Compact from 2005 has lumbar controls.
@jimbo the car is getting a change over after 3 yrs which is really soon considering most take 5. Its not a sports car nor a luxury car its the most fuel efficient gas car. You can’t expect everything. The only way your opinion is worth any credit is if you are in the automotive industry as an engineer management assemblu or testing department other than that you are being a troll
So, anyone who disagrees with you is labeled a troll?
Please, let the adults have a conversation.
Impala inspired grille?
They cancelled that. We get squat. Which means another company gets my money
I just bought a 2014 chevy cruze LS – rainforest green. Really liking the way she drives. Seats are comfortable in my opinion. It’s a compact car so with a few passengers, space is limited but that’s to be expected. I dislike not having cruise control but mainly it takes me to work and back home again so it’s not a necessity. I’ve been averaging about 26 mpg with it in the city according to my onstar app. If you’re looking for a nice looking car that’s affordable the cruze is for you.
IS TUNGSTEN METALLIC CONSIDERED PURPLE? WOULD YOU GUYS SAY IS A GIRL COLOR? IM CONSIDERING BUYING ON E AND SOMETIMES I THINK ITS PURPLE AND SOMETIMES I THINK ITS A DARK METALLIC GREY. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? LEMME KNOW!!!
