2014 Camaro Z/28 Gets Its Own HD Video

It’s only 43 seconds, but each and every one of those seconds is dedicated to showing off the design of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 up close, inside and out, and underneath the hood. It might still be a ways off, but we can already picture ourselves driving the Z/28 on the track, listening to the howl of the mighty LS7 engine banging at the 7,000 rpm limit, exhaust flaps wide open, and heat pouring from the hood extractor as the clutch pedal is pressed, and another gear is grabbed. It’s really a great time to be a Camaro enthusiast.

  1. The rear taillights are so cheap. The overall shape of the lights are influenced by the trunk and rear quarter panels. By choosing the new taillight design, they only had to change the rear bumper, which was obviously already part of the plan. Some may say they’re beautiful but I just see penny-pinching galore.

    1. The only people who care about what the taillights look like are those who have cars that are slower than the Z/28.

  2. and i see 67-69 camaro when i see those tail lights! these will do fine until the gen 6 comes out. theres plenty of MY 10-13 maros if the tail lights dont suit u!

    1. I wish I was like you and be able to love this car. My family has only owned mainly GM vehicles going all the way back to about the 1920’s. I try to love GM vehicles and give them the benefit of the doubt more than the competition, but I’m not going to be some mindless sheep and worship everything coming from their factories.

      Some of the people on this site are some really die hard GM butt-hurts who will bend over and defend GM to the death…

      1. Your gripe was with the tail lights, which is purely aesthetic opinion. There are people who actually think the Nissan Cube/Juke look good, where as I think they are the epitome of awful.
        There is no car that is best at everything it can be compared to other cars in the same class. One might have the most power, or most fuel efficiency, or can carry the most caged parrots (that is probably important to someone out there)… What one car excels at over the rest, a person may not care about that attribute, so even though it is best at that one thing it is irrelevant to that person. With the product lineup, and as long as a person isn’t looking for a particular niche vehicle (ex. AWD 5-door hatch back = Imprezza), every person buying a new car should be looking at GM, Ford, and the Korean twins.
        I can look at a car on paper and it seems like the best option, then go drive it and end up not liking it at all. Then end up buying the car that was 3rd on my list of options.

        I’m a GM fan, sure, I’d buy a Chevy over a Toyota, I DID buy two Cadillacs over a BMW/Audi/Saab, I’d get a Sierra over an F150. But just because I may like something doesn’t mean I won’t consider the competition, it would be stupid not to.
        I bought a 2007 Mazda6S as a winter car, I’m not a fan of Mazda really, but it handles better an an Accord, Camry, Malibu. It is more or less the exact same as a Fusion, but to me being a bowtie guy, the Mazda was the lesser of two evils lol. Now that I have owned the car a while it is actually what I call a “reliable piece of shit”, it doesn’t brake down but it has so many quirks and annoyances.. and I wish I would have gone with a Malibu or even an ex-cab Colorado.

  3. My girlfriend saw me pull this up on the smart TV she then went in the kitchen threw me a small towel and quickly left me alone……when the video finished she made me wash my hands……. Fracking chicks….

  4. Taillights shmaillights, I want this car, being the last car of the old body style and a 427 z/28 , this will be an instant icon and very collectable.

  5. GM is doing *something* right: I’ve gone from thinking some of their cars would be nice to own – to now having several of their models I feel incomplete without owning!

    This new Z/28 – I may sell everything I own just to have something I can drive 6 months out of the year.

  6. Mark Reuss called the new Z28 the closest thing you can get to a street legal race car and he was not just “blowing smoke”. Reuss is a “car guy” and he was not just spouting a mouthful of unsubstantiated corporate bullsh_t. The new Z28 is just what Reuss said it was – the closest car you will get to a street legal racecar. If you are still not a believer, you should be when I tell you that the Program Engineering Manager for the new Z28 was Mark Stielo. And if you are a real Camaro enthusiast and performance fan, you will recognize Stielo as the acclaimed builder of the the “Red Devil”, a 1969 modified Camaro, built in Mark’s garage, which convincingly outperformed the 2012 ZL1 in a head to head performance shootout on the track at Gingerman.     ). Steilo’s history with the Camaro “runs deep”. As a young engineering intern, Stielo was an important member of the GM team that developed the now legendary 1LE RPO for the 1989 Camaro. Having Mark Stielo as the PEM for the new Z28 guarantees its performance qualifications. And that is what the car is all about. Whether the tail lights are like they are makes no difference at all, the car is not so much about style as it is performance and in my opinion if tail lights are your concern then you shouldn’t be looking at this car.
