Watch A Chevy Silverado 1500 Pull Out Its Own Boat, A Ford F-150 & Its Boat: Video

Posted to YouTube no more than 24 hours ago, this brief video shows a GMT900-based Chevy Silverado Extended Cab pull out its boat (seemingly a 30′), a last-generation Ford F-150, and the boat of the F-150 owner — all at once. According to the video’s description, the F-150 was having a tough time pulling its vessel out of the water, so after a good day of fishing, the Silverado and its 5.3 liter Vortec V8 lent a helping hand, pulling out two water vessels and a truck for a total of three items:

For reference, the 2013 Silverado’s 5.3 liter Vortec with VVT makes 315 horsepower (@5200 RPM) and 335 lb.-ft. of torque (@4000 RPM) while sporting a maximum conventional trailering ratting of 9,100 pounds (when equipped with the 3.42 rear axle).

The GM Authority Take

It’s always nice to see a Chevy lend a helping hand… especially when it’s a Ford. Right? In all seriousness, that’s some impressive pulling by the Chevy — keeping in mind that the F-150 was operational and helping the caravan.

      1. it would of been more a surprise if the silverado is saving the ext. cab of the F150 with 4X4

  2. Understanding that yes, the Ford is operational and is still helping, am I watching this right? The Chevy is pulling out its own boat (from the looks about 30′), a Ford, and the boat which is connected to the Ford? A total of 2 boats and one truck? Dang

  3. So they attached a tow strap to a cross-member on a boat trailer? What could go wrong…

  4. I imagine he was helping because the F150 was only RWD and did not have enough traction to full the boat out. Besides the ramps being wet, in many cases they are covered in moss, meaning you have to be careful not to get too far down; otherwise, you’ll need a Chevy to save the day.

  5. What the Ford was lacking was traction. It looks like a 4×2. Lets not gloat, but today, Ford is our goat!

  6. While I am a Chevy man, how is this impressive? It’s not as if the Ford was sitting dead and the Silverado was pulling dead weight. The F150 assisted in pulling, plus how can you compare and old F150 series to a new Silverado? It seems unfair, and if that truck had been 4WD I’m sure it would have pulled that boat out no problem.

  7. Well, there really is nothing like a good ol’ G80 Eaton locker…
