Arguably, it’s the exterior color that can make or break the appearance of a vehicle. And while we’d contend that no color (even an unorthodox Rat Rod) could ruin the daring, bold, and sporty appearance of the fifth-generation Chevy Camaro, some would say that crimes against the car (such as blinged-out eyesores from 813 Customs) do just that. Regardless, the 2014 Camaro is getting a refresh, and the planned bring changes to the Camaro’s color palette.
What seems to be happening for 2014 is that the Camaro is losing three of its nine current colors, while gaining three new colors. Like so:
2014 Camaro Color Deletions
- Rally Yellow
- Inferno Orange Metallic
- Victory Red
2014 Camaro New Colors
- Bright Yellow (G7D)
- Red Rock Metallic (G7P)
- Red Hot (G7C)
In effect, each of the three colors marked for deletion is replaced by a color with a different name that sounds like a similar hue, including:
- Bright Yellow (seems to be) a direct replacement for Rally Yellow
- Red Rock Metallic (seems to be) a direct replacement for Inferno Orange Metallic
- Red Hot (seems to be) a direct replacement for Victory Red
2014 Camaro Full Color Lineup
- Bright Yellow (new for 2014)
- Ashen Gray
- Black
- Crystal Red Tintcoat
- Red Rock Metallic (new for 2014)
- Blue Ray Metallic
- Silver Ice Metallic
- Summit White
- Red Hot (new for 2014)
As soon as we get our hands on the color palette for the 2014 Camaro, we will publish all of the colors in their full glory in the gallery below. But since we don’t have photos of the 2014 model year Chevy sports car in all of its new hues right now, we’ll have to do with photos of the 2013 model, in 2013 colors:
Which color are you lusting for the most? Sound off in the comments below.

I like the Silver Ice Metallic (primarily because it’s kinda close to the greatest GM colour in history: Pewter Metallic). But I’ve always loved a green car. With tan interior. Seems as if only the competition offers such combinations.
Well, Chevy did offer the Synergy Green Metallic on the fifth-gen Camaro in the past:

Ford does offer the (much less attractive, in my opinion) Gotta Have It Green… but only started doing so for the 2013 MY Mustang. Not sure it will live on past 2014.
1977 Trans Am color Brentwood Brown. Like a Rootbeer metalic and it’s awesome. I owned it.
Yeah……Let’s see some green skins.
The hypo green from a few years ago was kewl, but let’s have some darker greens, similar to the Impala green from around 2003-2004, with subdued flake in the color.
Great mix of colors. It’s rare when so many look good, man that 2013 sure looks refreshing. I like both reds, the orange, white, yellow and the blue! Glad they are painting the “shark fin” on top, that looks a lot better than being black plastic.
I’d put black rallye hood/deck stripes on the reds, white on the orange- that would pop, gold stripes on the white, black on the yellow and white on the blue- that would pop too.
They still need a blue that doesn’t need to be next to black to know it’s blue and looks blue in any light.
All the colors are nice, I really liked the orange, but I still like the Carbon Flash Metellaic
Why is information like this still not available for the SS sedan? This new Camaro has been out for 48 hours while the SS debuted weeks ago and I’m still only seeing it in that boring silver!! What gives?!?
PIease add the matte metallic white used on the new Z/28. I think they were calling it octane.
I agree, that pearl white z/28 is the only white i would buy, you got to add that one.
I think that the Camaro looks good in any color, but it is too bad the interior visibility is so limited. I know the back up camera might help, but I had a Camarfo rental for two weeks and I felt that it was a dangerous car to drive because of the small window areas. I nearly backed into a fence the first day I drove the car as the rear visibility is almost non-existent. The next rework of the car should address this problem. The Mustang is very sporty looking, but easy to drive with its taller glass areas.
The Camaro is not Dangerous to drive because of the windows. If you adjust your mirrors as you should, and pay attention to your surroundings, it’s absolutely fine. Almost backed into a fence? you do have 3 mirrors. sheesh.
Agree with all of the opinions here. I’m partial to a bright yellow, and would like to see it on any sports car, roadster, or C-class and smaller hatches. Visibility is good.
I like them all for this car….green is missing…again. Do not see that in GM lineup much anymore at all….even Cadillac…seems very odd to me
These pictures show the old rear, whats up with that
opops just read last paragraph…
Bright or Rally yellow for me please.I am surprised and pleased by the awesomeness of the new Z/28,but why it was not in yellow at the N.Y. auto show baffles me. Also in agreement with most everyone here they are cool cars in any color.
Like the blue on the Hot Wheel version. Is it Kinetic Blue? Would go for that option just for the color!
A bright royal blue. Like the one being offered on the new Impala.
We are ordering a camaro but almost picked the mustang for the green, they need to bring a green back on board for the camaro
I’m curious to see what Red Hot looks like in comparison to Victory Red, as the Cruze will be adopting this color for 2014 also.
I agree they need a better blue. Blue Topaz Metallic would look awesome on the Camaro.
why not the blues that were on the truck and SS pace car at Daytona?
i wish they would come out with a light gold, like 1974 with black stripes
How about a replacement for Aqua Blue Metallic…
Where are the nice greens? I want them to bring back the color change paint from the late 90;s firebirds. Those were beautiful. Women would like a bright color that doesnt’ spell too much testosterone or scream to cops give me a ticket. Even a nice hunter green or pale metallic light green or turquoise.
I like the medium blue popular on the 68-72 Camaro and Nova SS.
What GM really needs to do, if they are trying to make the Camaro a true ‘throwback’ to muscle cars of old, is offer one ‘off the wall,’ totally unique, eye-catching color each model year (or even every 6 months if that would cost GM less). Yes, it would be a low-volume color, but maybe charge an extra $300-500 (as they do for many premium colors) to make up the cost. The people who really want that color can buy it in the 6-12 mos its available and then they come out with another one to get the next group of people that want a truly unique looking car.
They had the Synergy Green for a while but didn’t follow it up with something equally unique. I for one would get off the fence about buying another Camaro if they were to offer something in a deep purple. Otherwise, I will bide my time, and might end up getting another vehicle while I wait.
Andy — that’s assuming that Chevy/GM is “trying to make the Camaro a true ‘throwback’ to muscle cars of old”. Everything we’ve been hearing about the all-new sixth-gen 2015/2016 Camaro is that it will be modernized inside and out… just as Ford is doing with the 2015 Mustang.
Some initial 2015/2016 Camaro intelligence:

Would love to see the green come back!!
In 2008, I ordered and purchased an Aqua Blue Metallic pre-production 2010 Camaro RS. Because it was a new color, I selected the color sight-unseen and it has been the rarest of all the colors. I have fallen in love with this color with the white rally stripes, but GMdid not continue the color into 2011. I always get compliments and admirers. Currently, I am in the market for a new Camaro, but I am waiting for similar hue of Blue. Blue Ray does not compare. Why is GM holding back the Blues?
HOLA, SOY DE ARGENTINA Y QUISIERA SABER QUE COLOR LE QUEDA MEJOR AL CAMARO, A MI GUSTA EL AMARILLO BRILLANTE O EL ROJO CALIENTE
The Synergy Green was awesome, as is the blue available on the Hot Wheels edition, but I would love to see a dark purple metallic!
it is a very sad color pallet fpr a American classic that gm now builds in Canada so they they can continue to help ruin the u.s.a . all Canadian colors with no consideration for the people that bailed gm out of the toilet no real blue because they are anti red white and blue . when the car was built it Ohio they had 30 color choices but I guess Canadians get confused when they have to change they paint cans out so we gotta keep it simple for they simple minded workers aye.
Jimmy … I think that you have some serious problems going on in that twisted mind of yours. Please see a professional psychiatrist for help as you really in need of help. I was born in Canada, but have lived here most of my life and served in the U.S. army in the the Korean conflict near the front lines. I love the good old U.S.A. and so do most of my Canadian friends and relatives. I worked for General Motors and Ford Motor Company in automotive design for 40 years and I know the closeness of working with both countries. Your stupid comments make you sound like a real sick puppy, so please get some help.
My son wants the Synergy Green that was last on the 2011 Camaro on his Camaro that he is getting in 2014. Can the car be ordered with a special paint code like they did in the past? I am not going to have the car painted, and that is the ONLY color he wants. I don’t want to buy a used Camaro, but if it cannot be special ordered, I guess I have no choice.
Nope, no special order colors. Going to have to buy used or pick a different color
I wish they would come back out with the Gold, i had a 1974 Gold z28 with black stripes…loved it.
SYNERGY GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did they get rid of this color? I bought my 2011. White with orang stripes 2SS/RS at the end of the 11 model year I wanted the synergy green but there wasn’t any to be had, in fact I could get any other color I wanted but green. It seems pretty STUPID to me to discontinue the color that sold out first.

What happen to red jewel tint coat best color ever, I will buy older model to get color
So dissapointed they are getting rid of the Inferno orange! I believe it is the hottest color on the Camaro! SO very sad!
I have a 2014 Blue Ray Metallic Camaro and I LOVE the color. Depending on the light, the color actually seems to change.
Red Hot
What color is rarest anyway?
I want to colour my hot wheels version
