Sunday Funday: Check Out This All-Green, All-Electric Corvette ZR1 (With Video)

Even though this gem of a video was made a few years ago (during the automotive carpocalypse), it still holds satirical value today. Take, for instance, the fact that the 2009 Corvette ZR1 C6 in the video is “easily the most anticipated automobile to come from Detroit in decades” while being “all-green and all-electric” and taking “going green to new heights”. Just check out some of its specs:

  • 0-30 mph in 1 minute and 20 seconds
  • 110 Volts
  • 30 Amps
  • 38 Super Charged horsepower
  • 1/4 Mile in 2 minutes and 50 seconds
  • 36 mph top speed

This completely-unique car is perfect for those who want to be environmentally responsible, and is available immediately at “the few Chevrolet dealerships still in business near you” (ouch!), but only in limited numbers. It also still sports quad exhaust and a six-mile extension cord that’s optional:

Our question is, what if someone bought a ZR1 before the extension cord became available? Can they still order one after the fact?

  6. lol, actually, I thought that was pretty funny. Do they offer an extension to the extension cord? I got a 25 mile daily so I am not so sure the 6 mile one will get me to work in less than a day. 😉

  7. VetteGyrl, You’ll have to use the SNR “stop and replug” feature at least 4 times to get to work. Just hope you don’t live in the country where the homes are far and few between.
