By this time, you have undoubtedly seen the awesomely-entertaining video of Jeff Gordon test driving a Chevy Camaro, scaring the bejesus out of a salesman. If you haven’t watch it. Now. Seriously.
Well, we had our suspicions that the dealer was also in on the prank… and we were right. In short, the dealer — the used car outfit that goes by the name of Troutman Motors in North Carolina — was in on the prank, even lending Jeff and Co. Pepsi the 1998 Chevy Venture van to ride in, so he “looked like a North Carolina redneck”, according to the dealer’s owner Wayne Troutman.
The salesperson, however, wasn’t informed of the prank, so after threatening to call the cops after the “test drive” and then being told of the prank by Gordon himself, he went out for another (normal) ride with Jeff.
Here are some more details of the entire affair, in video (not mobile friendly):

It just gets better all the time.
I didn’t think the salesmen was in on it. Would take too good of an actor!
funny video, but I dont think it is real at all….
look at the car tested…. on the windshild seem sto be a 09 camaro, but the 2009 camaro does not exist………
The car of the video is a 2012 LT V6……….
I thought for sure that the salesman was an actor, because he remained calm enough not to ring Gordon’s neck afterward. But, looks like his reactions were real after all.
Yeah, we called bs with the 09 Camaro being nonexistant, and the cup holder on the dash. Still great to hear the salesman’s reactions were real.
Could have very well been an error at the dealership.
If the salesman wasn’t in on it, then he is a total moron. The Camaro has the MyLink screen and the frameless rearview mirror with glowing OnStar buttons- both not available until the 2013 model.
Uh huh. Apparently completely faked.
Riiight. A car “salesman” doesn’t know the difference between a no-such-thing-as-an-’09-Camaro and a brand new 2013 Camaro?
