Here Are The Two Carry-Over Parts From The C6 To The C7 Corvette

You already know that the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray is an all-new model… you may also know that the designers and engineers only used two parts from the previous-generation C6 on the C7. We didn’t know what those were… until now.

Specifically, they are the cabin filter and roof latch. How’s that for all-new?

    1. You didn’t watch the C7 video where they said “every gram has to earn it’s way onto the car”, did you?

      1. I bet the entire rear section of the C7 greenhouse, from the B-pillar back, weighs as much (or maybe even more) than the bubble glass hatch of the C6.

No, they didn’t go to the new style greenhouse because of weight. I read somewhere they did it because the race C6s were cutting cooling ducts or aero ducts into the lexan bubble glass replacements for functionality purposes on the race cars. So GM designed the new Vette so they wouldn’t have to do that.

  2. Hey Alex, do any other cars share the cabin filter? Just wondering.

I have never used the roof latch on a C6 so I hope it is better than the one on my C5. I always seem to break a nail when I take the top off! 😉
