Since its launch in 2011, the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has seen very little positive press from the media as a whole. Shortcomings such as underwhelming fuel economy numbers and insufficient rear leg room compared to its top rivals have made the mid-size sedan a tougher sell than it should be.
So to change that, GM has been working on a quick refresh that will hopefully fix a lot of the criticisms. The refreshed model will launch later this year as a 2014 model, but it has yet to show its face to the public.
Fast forward to the present, with the 2013 New York International Auto Show on the horizon. There are no less than four confirmed models set to debut from General Motors, with a “surprise” debut from a fifth car. Money’s on the 2014 Malibu. But it just as well could be something else. Be sure to stay glued to GM Authority for more.

Hope it is the Malibu, as it is close enough to it’s “coming out party” anyway. Somebody’s gonna say no way though because it will be hard for them to get rid of existing ’13’s if it proves to be overwhelmingly promising. Whatever.
El Camino is the mystery concept!
[Manny/Alex, in the spirit of March Madness, you should create a bracket of GM cars (across all brands, past and present) that should be brought back to life. Would be insanely fun.]

Oh, you have no idea how many dreaded ‘internet arguments’ would be ignited from even thinking of that idea.
All it really needs is a new grille and engine, then it will definitely be in the Top Three in its class, if not better than that.
They need to reveal it fast!!!
I think you got it! Even though I really LIKE THIS ‘BOO AS IT IS. I think it’s one of the best Maibu’s EVER (and my favorite ones are the ’67, 70-72, and ’73 SS!)
What is the problem whit the design ,,,this is a nice car y was in a car show Saturday my god Toyota inside car very ugly wow the design is bad…the uro car like BMW the dash is ugLy….
I kinda doubt its the ’14 Malibu, unless they show it in unfinished guise (like when the ZL1 debuted).
Wouldn’t it be great if the surprise car would be the often rumoured Malibu diesel….perhaps without urea injection…??
