Red Bull is white hot right now. They win F1 championships year in and out. They do air races. They host fun events like the Flugtag and several music festivals. Oh, and they dropped a dude from the freaking stratosphere with their Stratos space program. Yup, Red Bull’s pretty much done it all. And most recently, it contributed to the world record for the longest drift performed by a car with a Chevrolet Camaro.
Driven by Lebanese Red Bull Athlete and rally champion Abdo Feghali, the Camaro broke the Guinness World Records for the Longest Vehicle Drift at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi. The total drift was 11,180 meters (11.1 km, 6.95 miles) long, and took over 14 minutes and 43 laps around a 260-meter circular course of cones to complete. And if we didn’t know any better, it appears as though Feghali used a basically stock Camaro SS.

That is clearly a ZL1
Nope, my bad. Video cut out at the halfway point and i didn’t even get to see the second attempt!
0:20 The seats say “ZL1”
Impressive nevertheless
Watch the video all the way through. He switches cars. The SS is the record holder.
Not really a surprise. A lot of the guys in Formula Druft use LS engines
the LS engine and LSx are the best performance on the planet hands down, its the only reason import drivers , and even ford and dodge guys put the LS series in their cars.
its not the car that set the world record its the driver he was just using the car that best suits him
in my opinion though the LS7/427 is the best engine
if you listen in on the first 30 seconds or so the guy will say there wasto much vibration in the ZL1
Drifting – bah! Totally worthless enterprise.
I agree. It for the feckless and judges who can be paid off.
Figure skating works the same way, and judges get paid loads to pick a winner.
That looks like a lot of fun! I wonder if I could do that in my Vue. 😉 JK! Might be a cool thing to do in my vette though!!
