Hennessey Performance Engineering Promises Up To 1,000 HP With 2014 Corvette Stingray Turbo Kit

If you’re the right combination of wealthy and crazy, Hennessey Performance Engineering has something you should be interested in. Something that suddenly makes the 700-horsepower Corvette ZR1 rumor drab by comparison, because HPE claims it will be able to boost the output of the 2014 Stingray Corvette’s 6.2L LT1 V8 engine from anywhere between 700 horsepower to 1,000 maniacal horses. We wonder if it comes with a will, and life insurance, as well.
The *lower* power upgrades will be courtesy of a supercharger kit, aimed to produce 700 horsepower. Meanwhile, it will be the twin-turbocharging kit that will increase the Stingray’s output from 800 to 1,000 horsepower. That’s more than double the original estimated power output of the base Corvette C7, which Chevrolet currently claims is 450 horsepower and torque even. Expensive tires will meet their doom.
I wonder if it comes with a super duper radar detector.
I’m curious, what about the new LT1 makes Hennessy believe they can reliably push 1000hp vs the current LSXs?
They already are building the 6.2l LS3 block into the Hennessey Venom, and at ~1500hp at the crank, are still putting a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on them. So, I think much of it has to do with Hennessey’s obvious faith in the makers of this engine.
The Venom’s engine is based on the 7.0L LS7.. But yes, they are pushing gobs of power out of it. And also do so with the LSA and LS9 engines reliably.. and LS3 for that matter.
They have the 1000hp TT Camaro SS and ZL1, 1000hp Z06, 1000hp LS3 Vette, and then humorously the Chevy king beast, ZR1, only gets a 750hp kit
Well maybe I should rephrase the question. It’s been possible to get 1000hp out of LS engines for years. The STS Turbo guys even daily drove a 800+hp stock block LS1TA for a while. The 4.8 and 5.3 iron block Vortec variants are junkyard turbo wonders; pushing up to 700hp all stock except for a cam/cheap head swap. (it’s been proven the 4.8 is the real jewel of the LS family, capable of 900-1000hp with boost on a stock bottom end).
What I want to know is details. Sounds like they’re privy to some inside info directly from the General. Like maybe they have already been testing a LT1 engine on the Secret Squirrel tip?
thats if they can find a way to remap the new cpu and work with the direct injection , which now has ( I think) 10,000 psi ?
With a 1000 HP engine in a Corvette Stingray, what American idiot will buy an imported supercar that cost more?
Off topic, but I just noticed that BNR/ Trifecta already have a tune for the 2.0T ATS bumping power to 325hp, besting the heavier 3.6L’s output.
