A report from The Detroit Free Press suggests that General Motors will most likely carry on without a global Chief Marketing Officer, according to CEO Dan Akerson. GM hasn’t had a CMO since Joel Ewanick was abruptly shown the way out.
Instead, GM will be putting the power in the hands of global marketing chiefs for every brand, making each marketing department more autonomous than before. Currently, these include:
- Chevrolet: Chris Perry
- GMC:Â Tony DiSalle
- Buick: Tony DiSalle
- Cadillac: Don Butler
