General Motors Takes Four Spots In 2013 JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study

You’re all probably wondering what the hell a Buick Lucerne is doing in the graphic above. For a second we thought the same, until we realized that the 2013 JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study measures problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old vehicles. In this case, that would be the 2010 model year.

Joining the late Lucerne in winning their respective categories are the Chevrolet Camaro for the Midsize Sporty category, the Tahoe in the Large Crossover/SUV category, and the GMC Sierra in the Large Pickup category. The Lucerne won the Large Car category. Toyota Motor Corp. was the only rival automaker to receive more awards in the study than General Motors, taking home seven awards.

  2. Do you have a link directly to the JD Power results? All the searches I’ve done turn up other various JD Power studies. I’m curious what other cars/manufacturers made the cut

  3. Notice that the GMNA “darling” vehicle, the Cruze, is NOT on that list…too many “teething” problems for a vehicle that was supposedly “…4-million mile…” tested, and is actually a rehashed (ie: Americanized) Daewoo Lacetti from 2008.
