Cadillac Awarding iPad Minis As Part Of ATS Launch Competition In The UAE

As part of celebrating the launch of the ATS sport-luxury sedan in the region, Cadillac is hosting a Facebook competition where UAE residents have a chance to win an iPad mini. To enter, participants will need to take a picture of any 2013 Cadillac ATS between February 17th and 28th and upload it to their Instagram account.

From there, the photo will be “liked” by the Cadillac Arabia Facebook page, allowing it to be automatically displayed on large screens throughout the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) area — where Cadillac is offering test drives of the ATS until the end of February. The participant with the “best image” will be gifted an iPad mini.

Seems like a nice social contest.

Our recommendation would be to test drive the ATS in Dubai’s Financial Center, take her out to a cool location (The Palm Jumeira, anyone?), snap a photo (or two) of the fine Caddy, upload the pics to Instagram, drive the ATS arund Dubai some more, then take it back to DIFC, win the iPad mini, and use the $1,000 voucher you got for test driving the car to buy an ATS for yourself.

Our only question is what, exactly constitutes the “best image” in the contest, and who determines its “best” nature, but we’re sure the folks at GM Middle East have it all figured out. Questions to GM’s Middle East PR team weren’t returned at time of publication.

Update: GM Middle East provided us with the following contest rules:

There are 2 iPad to win, one iPad every 6 days as the competition runs for 12 days. The “pic of the day” is selected by the marketing team. The pictures of the day from the first 6 days of the competition will enter the draw to win the first iPad mini and the same goes for the second iPad mini.

  1. Competition is open to UAE residents only that have a valid resident visa
  2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this Competition
  3. To enter the Competition, upload a picture of the Cadillac ATS to Instagram using #ATSDubai
  4. The Competition runs from February 17th 2013 to February 28th 2013
  5. Every day one picture will be selected as the “pic of the day”. The pictures of the day from the first 6 days of the Competition will enter the draw to win the first iPad mini. The pictures of the day from the last 6 days of the completion will enter the draw to win the second iPad mini.
  6. Winners will be announced on Saturday the 23rd of February and Friday the 1st of March
  7. Winners will be selected by the Cadillac Motors Marketing Department
  8. Winners will receive a 16GB Wifi iPad mini
  9. The winner will be notified through a comment on the winners on Instagram photo whereby we ask them to contact us via private message on Facebook. If the winner does not respond within 2 days we reserve the right to select another winner.
  10. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered.
  11. All participants need to hand in the official identification papers to claim the prize
  12. General Motors reserves the right to use any image submitted to the Competition for advertising purposes. By entry into the Competition, Participant assigns all right, title and interests in the picture to General Motors or its subsidiaries. Participant expressly waives any claims of ownership or royalties against General Motors.
  13. General Motors employees, their families and employees of subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, representatives, and agents of General Motors are ineligible to participate in this Competition.
  14. Entry into the Competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  15. Participants may upload original pictures taken by Participant. Upon request, Participant will provide General Motors proof of Participant’s submitted picture.
