Ad Break: Take Your Imaginary Friends With You In Your Chevy Traverse

This ad for the freshened 2013 Chevy Traverse, and its ability to carry up to eight — such as all of the little girl’s toy friends, is adorable and endearing, while showing the full-sized crossover in a positive light. Plus, we love the melody — My Friends by Frenetic Sound:

  1. I really like the idea, but I don’t think the ad was well executed. The “imaginary friends” got relatively little time to be cute (having the announcer guy talk as long and as slow as he did didn’t help). We didn’t get to see them interacting in the vehicle–to see just how much room the interior has. And the music failed to get my attention (except to annoy me), and it added nothing to the “story”. They probably spent a fortune on it, too.

    1. I found the video very “cute” and the Traverse has the attractive new grille, so it is a good production.

  2. It sort of reminds me of the Kia Sorento commercial with all the toys having fun with the car

  3. I liked the ad a lot…makes me think of the clever ones Buick does with Verano

  4. My first thought was “They are trying to sell a mid size suv that will carry 8 passengers…Why do they have a mom, a daughter, and her imaginary friends in there?” An 8 passenger vehicle hauling two real people? Then immediately following I see the Hyundai commercial for their 8 passenger suv actually hauling people which was much better in its execution.
