2014 Chevrolet SS Performance Sedan To Cost $27,535?

An recent Automotive News report claims that the upcoming 2014 Chevrolet SS — the vehicle that won and paced the 2013 Daytona 500 — will start at just $27,535 when it enters showrooms during the fourth quarter of this year. That’s nearly half of the price tag suggested by previous rumors.
GM Authority sources informed us that the Chevy SS will debut with a price tag of around $40,000 (and will only go up from there), so the sub-$30,000 price reported by AN is quite surprising, and we’re pretty sure it was confused with the MSRP of the upcoming Impala. We’re not sure if we can believe it. But as we like to say here, only time will tell.
