Say what you want about the EcoTec3 engine family name that will be featured in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. It won’t change the fact that the General Motors Tonawanda Powertrain facility will be adding some 500-600 new workers to build them, according to The Detroit News. That’s nearly a fifty percent increase in the plant’s workforce.
Of that number, 300 of those new jobs will given preference to UAW workers from Delphi plants who wish to transfer to Tonawanda.

Very cool! Nice to see GM keeping jobs here in the US. I am also looking forward to seeing the specs on these new engines.
That name sucks
If GM can deliver an ecoboost beating MPG in a V8 package, GM is on to a winner.
