We have no idea if the 728,003 miles (1,172,000 km) on the odometer of this GMC Savana van are original or not… but it’s impressive, nonetheless.

A trip to the moon and back, and back to the moon, and then stopping at a Denny’s in the rural exosphere.
Hello Chevy fans:
My 2000 Chev Silverado 1500 4WD “Blue”, purchased November 1999, is at 497,982 Kms – original paint – original engine -original transmission – original exhaust – all in Canadian winters. I would put my P/U against any other vehicle in North America and all imports. It was built in Janesville, Wisconsin, USA.

I won’t be surprised if its not the original engine.. There is a guy up north that has a 91′ silverado and it had over 1,000,000 miles on it or just hit that mark.. And he used it for work everyday.. Most of that was highway miles but still.. He wore the threading of the oil plug out like 2-3 times from all the times he changed his oil.. he had to replace some other parts but not the engine.. That was the 5.7L he had.. I heard people putting 300-400,000 on the 4.3 and 5.3’s.. So I’m not surprised if it is orginal miles, as long as you take care of your motor it’ll last awhile..
I’m not surprised. A GM vehicle, well maintained, will run pretty much forever. 728,000 miles is basically eight Fords’ worth.
Sorry but I got a 2005 f250 5.4 gasser. Not rebuilt pushing 539000. Starts right up so try again lol
Thumbs down are all chevy owners crying, I’ve owned all 3 ford dodge Chevy all have there issues working on trucks sence 9 years old I’ve seen a lot definitely more animosity among brand fans than anything, lol almost as bad as to grown men arguing about a woman in a bar and flexing there beer muscles bahahahahahah, so over the last 40 years I’ve seen this Chevrolet gm whatever, seems to leed the pack with fuel pump water pump and transmission failures amongst electronics and electrical failures there are other failures but these seem to be most common ford leads the way with exhaust manifolds and blown out spark plugs lol some transmission failures but not as high as other brands, ford fpdm from rust issues dodge has issues with transmissions especially diesels camshaft failures in hemis now there are other failures amongst brands up here in the rust belt there chevy ford rusted out brake and fuel oil and transmission cooler lines dodge to but not as much,I am not getting into little things like alternator starter or brakes cause its common in all ,my point is they all wear out break whatever floats your boat they all perform similar with same powertrains it’s all your personal opinion just like mine ,,it is fluffy funniest how guys will literally get into fist fights over brand bashing I guess some of us never really grow up and alcohol can fuel own childhood train of thought and we can literally kill each other over a brand name calling conversion bahahahahahah, I’ve owned and seen them all and with money anyone’s can be better than the others ,dont loose your cool over a brand bashing argument lol
I had 200,000 on my last 2003 Silverado 4×4 with the 5.3. Only replace a fuel pump, water pump, battery, brakes, plugs and front axle seal. I think that was pretty good. Almost all highway miles in the Pacific NW, so easy climate.
Hope to get that out of my NBS 2007
the max i did is 345.000 KM with my 2005 Chevy Optra
I have an 07 chevy express original engine with 460,000 miles and an 06 chevy express with 480,000 miles…..
I own a 2004 GMC Sierra Z-71. 300.000+ and I would not hesitate to load up on any road condition for a 2000-3000 mile trip, worry free. Only thing I have done (other than 3000-4000 mile oil change) is replaced the transfer case. My fault due to playing in the snow and mud really hard at times. A ford would have puked out at 80-90 thou! God Bless my GMC Z-71. Would trade off my wife before my truck…….oh hell I did that already!! He He
I currently own a gmc sierra ext cab slt 4×4 with 531,000+ kms on it been great truck. Unfortunately had a water pump rad failure all at once overheated. replaced pump and rad been good for three weeks now catastrophy coolant into crank case now I fear could be fatal. I love my GMC 🙁
Oh sorry it’s a 1997!
I have an 02 silverado with the 5.3, very close to 300,000. I use synthetic oil and change every 10,000 miles. Have replaced fuel pump, 2 alternators, 2 batteries, water pump at 225,000, spark plugs at 220,000, and brake pads & tires. Original engine and transmission – haven’t even changed the transmission fluid or filter. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned, had it 8 years now and will keep it.
boss has a 2001 sierra with 508,000 miles on original motor. I thought it was going to die at 400k. at 490k we changed to synthetic oil and it runs better now than at 400k. boss puts on 1k a week, driving all over Wisconsin.
I have a 1994 buick Park ave
With 300,00 km
My daily driver
3.8 ltr v6
Running strong
With regular maintenance

I just sold my 2011 Chevrolet long wheel base 2500 with a 6 l gas engine. Odometer was 781000 Miles original engine never had a head off only thing I replaced was a alternator water pump and an air compressor. Incredible engine never used any oil never leaked any oil held the same oil pressure for all the years I owned it you can barely hear the engine run smooth as a kitten. It is now delivering carpet in Appleton Wisconsin.I ordered the same package in a long wheel base cab and chassis and had my own box build for a 3500 I’ve had it 16 months now 162000 miles not one problem. Gas mileage is down due to the box in the length of the wheelbase still getting around 13 to 15 miles per gallon. News has no oil. These 6 liter gas engines are the bomb they incredible.
I have a 1996 Chevy 1500 Cheyenne with a Vortec 4.3L engine and manual transmission.
It had 518,000 miles on it. Original engine and transmission. They have never been serviced.
I’ve had the oil changed every 3,000 miles and had lots of repairs on the peripheral components but never had the engine or the transmission repaired.
Apart from some minor oil leaks it still drives beautifully and the AC is cold.
Good job GM.

Hello I have a 2004 gmc SLT Sierra 4×4 5.3 2nd owner with 401,000 Kms on her, mobile 1 synthetic , runs like new, Alberta truck, no rust.
Works perfect.
I have a 2004 gmc sierra 5.3.second owner bought truck at 198,000 on her. I had before a 2000 sierra with 5.3 an ran strong. So i test drove this one an knew was some minor issues not engine or tranny related .still going strong at 228,038 rite now. Love these 5.3 ‘s was kinda worried after i seen the 706 number top front corner passanger side head. That told me they were castech heads. But seen no cracks in or shiney area in oil drain ports. So no worries love the truck dont kno how was treated before but now in good hands. Changed out diff fluid front, middle, back, new ujoints, wheel bearings.pretty much it normal maintance that previous never did..Everyone i kno is stuck in the 100,000 mile that not gona last long. I tell them hell thats just breaking these 5.3 ‘s in. Im reaching for the 400,000+
I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado,5.3, just about to hit 400k. replaced water pump, radiator, transmission, rear end, 3 alternators, tires, brakes of course. heater core was the worse to replace. I have a little knock but drives great.
I have 96 1500 4.3 vortec. Problem with starting and acceleration. Starting fluid starts it every time. Read thats not good to use. Have read there are many possible causes. FPR is what auto store hand held computer listed could be cause. Any coments?

I’m using a 1999 Yukon for golf course equipment and soft good sales in Mn,ND,SD,WY, & Ia and have over 850,000 miles on it. The body is starting to go but as of now still looks great on everything except the rt. front fender. Are there any programs that GM has to help me get to that 1,000,000 mile mark? I have over 80 clients wanting to see if I can get there.

Thought i would update my first post for everyone.
My Yukon turned over the 1,000,000 mile odometer reading on January 13th, 2020. I have pictures and video of all 0’s coming up on the odometer. Since then I have added over 17,000 more miles even with staying home most of the time because of the Virus that’s out there.
I called GMC’s main office and got a secretary that would not transfer me to anyone else to visit with about my (soon to be) Million mile Yukon. I explained the idea i had and all i got was if her notes of our conversation were important to management, i would get a call back. I was offered a $100.00 dollar credit to be used in a GMC dealer for an oil change and the oil to fill it back up. Wow!!!
My idea was to put my 1999 Yukon on a trailer and let dealer after dealer put it on display all over MN. I would get a use fee for the week from the dealer ship but never got to that subject. Then see who else wanted to use it to draw people into their dealership for a quick look at a million mile Yukon and afterwards, I know they would drive the lot just looking at used cars. Think of all the same names of “It’s a sale” that they use for advertising over and over each year. When is the last time a dealership had a week of, ” come see a 99 Yukon with a 1,000,000 miles on it that still looks great inside and out.” Something different to draw people of all ages into their lot just out of curiosity is very hard to find. Well, to my knowledge, GMC missed out on a very good advertising tool. I had customers in 5 states looking at my odometer every spring when they saw i had not parted with it yet, some even took pictures. I have had mechanics work on my truck that asked if they could take pictures because no-one in that particular Dealership has ever seen an odometer as high as mine was the last couple years. So, i do believe that there is a lot of curiosity out there to see what i had for GM at that time. Maybe in some places million mile vehicles are not as rare as out here in Minnesota where it is a big deal. Disappointed !!!
We have a 2000 GMC Sierra Pick up that just turned 300,000 Miles ORIGINAL MILES! YEE HAW!

323000 on my 2005 Silverado HD 6.0. Heading to Arizona from East Tn. hailing a 33 ft trailer. The truck was originally a company fleet truck and was serviced like clockwork. I do need need to get the AC recharged before next summer and get a complete tuneup just for my own peace of mind.
