People do all kinds of crazy things — like running over a perfectly good Saturn coupe with a Chevy truck. Reportedly, the female owner of the Saturn cheated on her boyfriend… who then proceeded to treat her car as if it were part of the road in front of his third-generation Chevy C truck:
While the boyfriend enjoyed his few minutes of jubilation while destroying a perfectly good car, he was smart enough to record the initiative and post it to YouTube, thereby creating evidence that the girl can undeniably use when seeking for damages in court. Looks like someone will be visiting the local jail soon…

Is this symbolic of how the other GM divisions were upset by Saturn’s initial-VIP treatment (namely Chevrolet itself), and so griped and groaned until the brand became just as assimilated as the rest of them?
*claps hands* brilliant!!…talk about self incrimination!
Now why would you ever want to cheat on a guy like that???
Hopefully boyfriend and his goon friends are forced to wear the b*tch tag in jail for a long while (if you know what I mean).
It was probably his car…
Ironically, these vehicles are exempt from the gas guzzler tax… not only that, the huge tires and eye level bumper height is somehow legal on our roads clearly causing a safety hazard to everyone on the road, including the driver when he rolls over on the highway.
Gas guzzler tax only applies to new purchases. Why would a vehicle built in the 80’s be taxed unfairly by today’s emissions standards? Why would it be illegal to modify a trucks suspension to make it more useful? This is America, not communist North Korea.
New trucks are exempt too. And why would it be illegal? Because it endangers the lives of people around them. Last time I checked, the US constitution states that your freedom must not infringe upon the freedom of those around you. Blocking views (indirectly causing accidents), running over a car in an accident because of the 3 foot high bumpers, and killing other motorists all don’t meet that requirement. Why why would older gas guzzlers be taxes? Because they ALSO affect the freedom of everyone by raising demand and decreasing supply of oil reserves, which in turn kills soldiers, and raises the price of fuel and commodities (and delivery) for everyone as a whole.
Well Jackson, if made everything that dangers the lives of others illegal we would all be stuck at home. As for your line in the constitution, isn’t making the truck illegal infringing on the freedom of the truck owner to legally own the truck? A person driving the safest car in the world could cause the death of many people on the highway if the drive irresponsibly. How far will we go to ensure our world is safe? Until we have to get a safety permit to travel to our local secure grocery store in our ultra safe car? The world is a dangerous place, we have to accept that, minimize the risk as much as we can but at the same time make sure our personal liberties are protected.
Dont even get me started on the oil issue. First instead of worrying about soldiers dying, we should be worrying about why are we in a position of our troops dying. Is it because we are at war because of oil? I dont believe that, but lets assume that’s true, then why are we. still the most powerful country economically and militarily in the world, the only county in the world that is at war over oil?
As for supply and demand, this argument is completely ridiculous and if it holds water, then the majority of Americans are hypocrites. As you know, there are people in the world and even in America who are starving right now, they dont have enough food just to barely stay alive. However, there are millions of americans who are eating so much, that they have diseases and maladies that come from simply eating more food than they should. These people raise the cost of food for all Americans and everyone around the world, resulting in people dying from the lack of food. They affect the freedom of everyone by raising demand and decreasing supply of food, which in turn kills the starving poor.
Should we make it illegal to consume more food more than necessary to be physically healthy, or tax those that do? We won’t , for obvious reasons. When we refuse to do this for food, a basic human need, how can we do this for oil, which is a luxury?
“isn’t making the truck illegal infringing on the freedom of the truck owner to legally own the truck?”
It should be when the owner has willfully made the truck a greater hazard to other motorists by making the bumper higher than it should be.
And how exactly is that suspension any more useful? Humvee’s in Afghanistan aren’t even jacked up that high, and they face conditions this redneck never even knew existed. Reducing safety, reducing economy, reducing stability to me don’t make the thing more useful. It shouldn’t be on the same roads as families with automobiles that meet the federal bumper height requirement. Not taking it on a taxpayer funded road? (Off road only use?) Then do whatever you want with the thing, as long as it doesn’t pollute.
There’s no sense arguing with a crazy liberal over what true personal freedom is. Maybe this guy can’t afford a new truck with better gas mileage. Maybe the road to his house gets muddy and rutted. Some roads in the US require off-road suspension to drive. You would have to leave city limits to know this. If he went out and purchased a new hybrid the pollution to make the batteries is probably worse than driving that truck 500,000 miles. Point being don’t infringe your crazy commie beliefs on true Americans.
I’m not a liberal… Actually I support gun ownership, conservative economic policies, etc… and I LOATHE kneejerk politics… But in the case of this stupid truck, regulations that apply to “passenger cars” should also apply to “light trucks”. They don’t, and it’s stupid. Since you all think it’s a GREAT IDEA to have bumpers 3 feet off the ground, when “passenger cars” are regulated to 16 to 20 inches off the ground, why don’t we get rid of the red taillight requirement while we are at it? In fact, I want my REGULAR beams to be as high as my HIGH beams, and I want my HIGH beams to shine IN THE TREES. Why? Because I am a REAL AMERICAN. See my point? 99% of the time, the bumper height isn’t what limits ground clearance… The undercarriage is. You know how much cheaper all of our insurance policies would be if all of those lead footed soccer moms in their gigantic SUV’s had even bumper heights?
About the fuel economy and oil topic.. WE INCENTIVIZE driving these mammoths by letting them skirt safety and fuel economy requirements (at the expense of the drivers of other vehicle types), and that IS the problem. You actually get a TAX WRITEOFF if it weighs more than 6000 lbs! Even though it wears our infrastructure twice as fast as a regular passenger car. Is this any more American?
About Fat people.. WE ALSO INCENTIVIZE OVEREATING. You can COLLECT DISABILITY for being OBESE. Is THIS american? It also raises all of our health insurance premiums.
SUVS are to FAT PEOPLE share many of the same benefits in this country. I don’t think there is anything AMERICAN about them at all. They are destroying us slowly.
“You can COLLECT DISABILITY for being OBESE.”
Really? Damn, America, who greenlighted that one? Up here, we just throw rocks at the obese.
I always thought that obesity=disability thing was just a cheap gag in that old Simpsons episode. I didn’t think it was real.
“Maybe the road to his house gets muddy and rutted. Some roads in the US require off-road suspension to drive.”
Not for the owner of the pickup as you can clearly see a paved and curbed road in the background.
There is very little reason to own a pickup outside of being a trademan or a farmer…and even less of a reason to own a lifted pickup.
A suspention jacked up high enough to travel the backroads of North Korea.
Seriously, nobody needs a lifted truck. Trucks are for tradesmen and farmers, not for douchebags to drive over cars.
Would’ve done the same!! Lol
I have my doubts that this video was done by a “jealous boyfriend”. The “narrator” made a comment that girls shouldn’t piss off their boyfriends, but that doesn’t mean that THIS situation was the same thing. Since we have not seen what led to this (we didn’t see the argument, we didn’t see the Saturn being placed in front of the truck, and we’re not even seeing the offending girlfriend), I would say that the only thing this guy would be guilty of is perhaps littering (if he doesn’t get the broken pieces of the Saturn off the road) or perhaps not obtaining a local permit for the stunt.
Seriously, jeez… I just let the air out of their tires… This is a little extreme…
you guys are ******* stupid
