What began in 2011, applications are beginning to be accepted for the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program until Thursday, February 28. The awesome community outreach program awards 1,100 scholarships to students who both excel in both the classroom as well as the community, with plans to pursue degrees in engineering, design, information technology and business-related majors in the auto industry.
Of the 1,100 scholarships, 100 of them will be good for up to $25,000 a year, being renewable for up to four years, with an exceptional fifth year for qualified engineering programs. These, of course, will offered to the most exceptional applicants currently enrolled in high school or college undergrad programs.
The remaining 1,000 chosen will receive a one-time, $2,000 scholarship towards higher education. So far, the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program has awarded out nearly $12 million in scholarships, of which comes from the GM Foundation.
