This Is The 2014 GMC Sierra With The All-Terrain Package

When the 2014 GMC Sierra launches next year, the full-size truck will offer an All-Terrain package that offers a unique exterior appearance. Available in an extended cab or crew cab configuration, the package will be standard on Sierra SLTs and consists of:

  • Painted grille with less chrome
  • Z71 off-road suspension with monotube Rancho shocks
  • Hill descent control
  • Front recovery hooks
  • Transfer case shield and unique wheels & tires
  • Automatic locking rear differential (reacts in milliseconds in low-traction situations)
  • Ebony fiber-look seat accent

The All-Terrain package was previewed by the All Terrain heavy duty concept at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show.

To spot the All-Terrain when browsing the gallery, keep your eye on the painted (rather than chrome) grille and front bumper covers.

  2. Looks great to me, can’t wait to see it in person at NY. And despite everyone saying they Sierra and Silverado are shareing body panels. If you look closer, they aren’t, there are difference.

  6. “Is this what you expected?”

    Yes. Total rubbish.

  7. Where is my lifted suspension, 35″ BFGs, full underchassis skid plates, FOX shocks, air bumps, wide stance, box side storage bins, onboard air etc?

Painted grille? That’s all the general has to offer?

Guess I’m off to buy a Power Wagon. The sad thing is that I complete expected as much.

    1. Power Wagon is a special model much like the Raptor. Simple all be it “basic” upgrade to off roading. Not full on like a Raptor or Power Wagon. -_-

  8. It appears to still lack the ground clearance necessary to be called all-terrain. Even a stock regular 4×4 Dodge has a taller stance and ground clearance.

Front bumper would also need to be raised to clear obstacles.

  9. I love it, not wild styling but suttle, how about a short box 4×4 for me.

  10. Why does the GMC look better than the Chevy.

  11. y love the gmc pickup ,wow but my little problem is the ambiance red light around the radio and the speedo,,wy they dont do like ford give you the choice of the color..

  12. Looks like the back seat still has no center headrest, has fold out cupholders in the middle seat, and will be as uncomfortable as the 2013 model for the person sitting in the middle on long trips. They could have easily fixed this. Glad I didn’t wait for this model and bought a F150 instead – Ford has a great back seat for three kids!

  13. ever since the last restyle i have been really impressed with the high quality “premium” look GMC has managed to give it’s trucks. glad to see that the next generation just increases on that look. (although i feel dodge has bottled lightning with their current trucks styling wise)

MAN i LOVE those wheels! wish i could say the same for the interior. i hoped GMC would be differentiated from Chevy in this regard; i guess not. maybe it will look better in other colors?

  14. extremely dissapointed in the new gmc all terrain the concept they made with the diesel motor and wider body and fox float shocks and 35bfg tires was so much better that it would have destroyed any competition or any custom build off the get go and if they would have had the balls to actuallly make the diesel version it would have made record sales among diesel owners and lovers and i would have probably bought 2 gmc all terrain hd’s with all the options availble but leave it to some higher up official to be to much of a panzy to go through with a real truck that would decimate any imataters shame shame guess its time to go buy a new set of fords instead hell do to this major screw up even the mor parts dodges even look good !!! thanks gmc officials for ruining the greatest possible unveiling for a new truck by screwing all us die hard gm fans and diesel fan

    1. Freddy — I realize that it has now been over a month since you commented here. But nevertheless, I felt the urge to reply.

Keep in mind that what we saw at the unveiling event for the 2014 Silverado and 2014 Sierra was just the beginning for these new truck lines. In other words, variants of all kinds are still in store. Check this out:

That’s not to suggest that a diesel-powered desert-storming 1500 is on its way… but as long as we’re talking facts, I wanted to throw that in there.

  15. I don’t understand the mentality of designing such a cool concept that everyone wanted and then delivering this…

  16. Clearly GM makes terrible decisions, see also bailout. If I were Zipfel I’d tell GM to pack sand and bail. His design was awesome and the only thing that came close to separating me from my Dodge loyalty. Truly a shame that even after billions in taxpayer $ GM still makes crappy decisions and keeps trying to peddle the same old tired Z71 suspension. Weaksauce!

  17. It doesn’t even look like the hd all terrain. Wheres the bad ass grill and the tires with fox shocks, where the full system skid plate. I have been saving for the truck and they bring my this junk… Who’s the man in charge cause I would investigate to see if he really is about GMC or is he really wanting that junky raptor to pull us around. Ill buy a toyota before I would a Ford now give Americans the GMC we want….

  18. I was really looking forward to the sierra hd all terrain concept in 2014 what happened? Do the big shots @ GM have no desire to compete with the ford raptor a beautiful truck just lacking the lift for 35’s my lifted 2003 sierra 2500 hd with supercharger looks better than any of your new trucks . You guys @ GM need 2 grab the bull by the horns and go 4 it, a lot of guys and ladies like those lifted off road trucks there is a huge market out there 4 people who like the truck lifted and 35 ‘s with 22in rims ready 2 buy off the showroom floor . Only – on the Raptor besides lift is gas mileage I’d still buy it . Very disappointed in Seattle.

  19. What the hell is this? Check the content listing on the window sticker on the 2014 GMC Sierra. Mexican content 51 % !!!!
Maybe I’m a dinosaur, but if I’m buying a pickup, I want it built in America, by Americans, out of American parts and from an American company. If GM can’t do that, maybe I’ll build my own classic truck. I could do a sweet ride for way less than their $45k average price. Once they get it sourced right, fire all the “Susie” stylist/engineers and send them back to the SUV design department. And size the interiors for guys, not soccer moms. Damn, now I gotta go take a pill…..
