You’ve already seen/heard the rumors of a Cadillac ATS coupe. And while it may not be difficult to envision a two-door variant of the new Alpha-based compact sedan, casey/artandcolour has rendered such a car — and the rendering looks very realistic, if we may say so ourselves.
As you may have expected, the front end of the vehicle remains the same — with most of the changes taking place in the mid-section and rear-end. In particular, the hips of the rendered coupes look very smooth and flowing — which are anything but on the sharp-edged CTS Coupe.
What do you make of the chop? Sound off in the comments below!

Absolutely gorgeous! Any American who buys a BMW or Audi or M-B over a Cadillac is not only foolish but also treasonous.
I’m a huge GM/caddy fan and I agree, but you can’t blame them, bmw , MB , audi make beautiful cars , and up until the last few years cadillac made lower quality less competitive over weight cars that no one even considered, from the buyers point why spend 50k on a car with old tech n quality when you can get something from germany much nicer for the same price. However cadillacs big soft land yacht history won’t work anymore, and they are doing a great job of bringing cadillac back and its happening fast, so now I strongly agree that if you were looking for a bmw or a Benz now or within the next few years cadillac will have a competitive solution and americans should buy american, cadillac or not
Stunning…chic and classy too…this should really push up sales…I see BMW and mercedes coupes and they are so elegnat; this should seal the deal for a lot of us!!!!
May be controversial but I love the CTS coupe. if I had no kids I would dump the Enclave and get the CTS V series.
The above rendering looks nice. Let me repeat that. Nice.
Cadillac needs more than nice. They need stunning.
Then again the sedan ATS is nice. I wish it was a bit more stunning.
I sorta felt that way, but I seen one in person and it was stunning in white diamond, and its vertical light pipes and LEDs are very bright and catchy, same with ths xts gorgeous car in person see them all over Manhattan, pictures do neither car justice
I have a CTS Coupe and love the sharp edged design. I was wondering what an ATS Could would look like and this is beautiful even without the chiseled edges. Only thing I would change is give it more if a sail panel in the back like the CTS Coupe.
Right, the C-pillar/sail panel looks way to common. It needs to have some super-style like the 67 Eldorado or the 77 Seville, something distinctive. Or something really cool like the 68 Charger with it’s C-pillar “fins.” This could be a C-pillar off a Chevy Cruze. I think 2 doors are kind of “1970s” the ATS 4 door is not styled like a stodgy sedan, don’t think it needs to be a coupe.
The ATS is distinctive in it’s own right; why would it need styling “advice” from cars made 40 years ago?
Because this coupe looks too generic. Using/”bringing back” styling cues from the past, that are associated with the brand brings great results. Think of the 2005 Mustang vs. the 2002 Pontiac GTO styling DISASTER.
Nothing sells cars in the sport luxury segment like dated looks. Just ask BMW how unsucessful they are with the contempory looking 3 coupe. Nobody walks into their showrooms, recognizes the Hofmeister kink and get bubbly nostagia about it.
Furthermore, when did the ATS ever look “generic”? I don’t think you even know what generic means; that you may have been trying to say that the ATS looks bland, which it doesn’t.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/generic
Nobody in the compact lux segment is going to confuse the ATS with anything else.
It is dumb to say if you buy a foreign car and not a caddy it’s treasonous. I like having freedom of choice. Not everyone will like caddy styling etc.
I firmly believe that if we Americans want our economy to fully recover we should all be buying American cars and all other products when at all possible. With a few exceptions, GM, Ford and Chrysler offer comparable vehicles to any of the world manufacturers and I consider it to be very patriotic to buy an American car which provides jobs to American workers and keeps corporate profits in America, even if that doesn’t always mean buying the superior vehicle. But in the case of the ATS I believe it is the superior vehicle in its class.
Thats right buy American… Obviously there is a reason why people migrated away from American branded, developed and manufactured products, but the whole quality issue is old news. If you even have an ounce of conviction about this you should be seeking out American branded or manufactured products. If you consider yourself American then buy American….
Beautiful. If you squint, it reminds you of a Mercedes–especially the front end.
I’ve seen this rendering of the ATS Coupe before and thought it stunningly beautiful. There are others out there as well and they look wonderful too. I wonder if Cadillac will surprise us with the real thing at the Detroit show in a few weeks? It would be a shame if they didn’t offer the ATS as a coupe as well as a sedan.
Needs the same door handles as the CTS Coupe and its ready for production
Its look ok but compared to its simbling the sedan its too soft.. Kind of reminds me of a g6 coupe from the back.. I like it but I think they can do better
This is a prototype, not a GM design….but I think it is going to look super nice…G6..exactly my thought!!!!!
Need to sporty up the grille a touch — maybe a little blacker with gloss black and unique treatment, get rid of the script on the top of the grille. Side profile is nice but a little too plain for my liking…..needs something distinctive — maybe like a little upturn at the back window or a sporty rocker panel ….
A full glass roof option would be nice too……
I like the fact that it is considerably different from both the CTS and ELR coupes; very elegant and nothing “low end” about it. I say “build it!”
It looks very good but could use just a little extra “pop”. Tough to tell if it has much head room in the back seat though. I like the cool look of the CTS coupe, but you cannot on occasion fit 2 adults back there and expect them to like you afterwards. A 2+2 in a 2000 lb car is inexcusable imo and needs to be addressed in an ATS coupe.
Oops I meant 4000 lb car lol
Beautiful. Cadillac should build this as a true pillarless hardtop. They should also offer the ATS as a convertible and a wagon.
That won’t happen- government side crash standards killed the “hardtop” starting back with the 73 Monte Carlo, which invented the “colonade” style. Same complaint on the Dodge Challenger, but that pillar has to be there. They can hide it with glass & trim on the outside, but you are going to hit your head on it getting into the back seat.
No government regulation killed the Mercedes CL, and those have been going since 1992.
It’s the market demand. Pillarless coupe are ultra low demand.
absolutely beautiful car, perfect wheels, classy grill, I’ll take mine in black.
Pass.
Way too much G6 Coupe in the back. That’s good for the G6, not for the ATS. And does it spell “CADILLAC” across the chrome trim on the upper grille? Tacky at best.
reminds me of a G6 coupe….i dont like it.

The Cadillac ats coupe needs to looks like this……with a more aggressive front fascia and a pillarless design to give it a more open look….make the taillights more LED intergrated…..and Cadillac, you will have you one of the best coupes on the market….dare I say better then the A5 and recently announced 4 series……Cadillac you have to bring your A game in design when it comes to this coupe…..practicality for a sedan….design is for coupes….
Mix practicality and design in a coupe, and you have a winner.
This is an elegant approach, I personally really like this styling. Verses the more aggressive look Lanceb. is talking about. Its going to have to be a balance for art/science styling moving foreward. I think the aggressive styling was fine for more recent Cadies, but going forward the styling will become more refined and elegant…
It’s not a cadillac coupe without the little censors to open the door a la cts-v coupe and corvette
This looks entirely like it could be a Malibu coupe if Chevrolet front and rear fascias were grafted onto it…not a bad thing, because the new Malibu is quite a looker…
I think that this is brilliant looking. Other than ugly swoopy tail lights, it’s a very, very atractive car. I hope that Cadillac build the coupe to look just like this with different tail lights. I tried to render a coupe version of the ATS a while ago. I made mine with a Nissan 370Z-like roofline, and it looked really good. To be honest, although mine was great, this one blows my design straight out of the watter. I can’t wait to see what GM has for the coupe version.
I think the Black rendering of the coup is way better looking than the red one. The red one looks as if its an old Chevy Cobalt with an ATS front end.
I own an ATS Performance Edition 3.6 with Nav and sunroof. Absolutely love it. And it’s returning great fuel economy. Bought it new 12/31/2012 – haven’t changed the average economy reading. It’s right @ 25.4. I do not drive for economy – I drive to enjoy but not abuse. I did change the OE wheels and will upgrade to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Mine is Glacer Blue/black leather-I suspect a rather upcommon combination. It’s extremely agile and very, very quick. Beautiful LED exterior lighting @ night – makes a major statement. My best friend owns an early build black on black XTS Platinum edition. Loves it. Drives perfectly.
