KBB Says Camaro SS Has Best Resale Value In Its Class

Owners of the 2013 Chevy Camaro can rejoice, since KBB has designated the 2013 Camaro SS as having the “Best Resale Value” in the High Performance Car category.
KBB cited the Camaro SS’ aggressive modern/retro styling and solid power as reasons for it retaining 61.3 percent of the original price 36 months after purchase, and 44.5 percent after 60 months. The Camaro SS even bettered its cousin — the Corvette — which came in third in KBB’s rank of retained value, immediately behind the Lexus IS-F. The base model Camaro with the V6 engine also held its own — as it was recognized as having the Best Resale Value in the “Sports Car” class, beating out the Porsche Boxter and the highly-praised Subaru BRZ.
The news serves as music to the ears of new Camaro buyers, but not so much for those looking to scoop up the fifth-gen Chevy pony car second-hand on the cheap at a dealer, from a private buyer, or on eBay or Craiglist. For those looking for performance on the budget, we recommend the 4th Gen Camaros and C5 Vettes — most of which have already depreciated significantly since their original debut.

“aggressive modern/retro styling” That’s from Kelly Blue Book….
Seems like there are many qualified others who believe in Modern/ Retro styling theme.
@Archangel Absolutely. However, the theme is very limited in scope. Out of all GM vehicles in production today, the Camaro is the only vehicle utilizing such design…
Quite true for the Camaro however until we see the new Corvette, it MAY (pure speculation here) (there have been some “Sting Ray” cues rumored) have “SOME” retro styling themes. I am NOT! saying the new Corvette will be RETRO! let’s state that right here and now to avoid any confusion or and dead horse beating…
but we will find out in a month and few days…..
“Modern/ Retro styling theme”
Oxymoron.
Here we go again….
It’s modernly-retro… modern with retro cues, or retro with modern cues. Not sure which one…
It’s the best of both worlds. And yes you are correct Alex with your production comment . But F-body man brings up a good point.
Can’t wait until 1-13-2013..to find out.
Guess who will be there? This guy!
Its official. the numbers don’t lie. The 5th generation Camaro is an Awesome buy!
Congratulations Chevy, and Camaro, keep rocking the Retro!

I’m simply in love with my new camaro ss, best camaro ever, just needs a little more power—-soon. i call it newage retro
Good new for Chevrolet. They’ve shown good pricing discipline on the Camaro with minimal rebates since it came out.
BTW, at present there is a 5 month backlog of Camaros.

Historically, one of GM’s best cards to play when their inventory is full is discounting. (RE: $5000 off, $8000 off)
Discount killed thier products resale value, something the Japanese picked up on early and avoid doing.
Anyone celebrating the Camaro’s resale value now won’t be doing so by May.
Alex, I can see this may be your new ride…awesome!!!!!! RED?
are there any statements indicating any discount percents
