It’s hard not to love Anthony Bourdain’s often brash television personality on the hit television show No Reservations, which recently wrapped up its final season after 8 years of traveling just about every corner of the planet. If you did happen to catch the final episode of him visiting Brooklyn, NY, you may have noticed that the Cadillac XTS made a cameo in one of the promotions for the show, as if he was driving the car. He wasn’t. And chef Bourdain furiously posted on Twitter his thoughts on the whole matter. It’s not pretty.
According to Bourdain, he was never notified from Travel Channel, much less Cadillac, that this would ever happen. And on the notion that he was getting a check from Cadillac regarding the spot, he shot that down as well.
Cadillac spokesperson Dave Caldwell explained to Jalopnik that it was Travel Channel who produced the promo, and that the brand seems caught in the middle of the feud between Travel Channel and Bourdain (this might explain why the beloved TV show will no longer have any new episodes).
“If you’re asking me about his actual tweets… I don’t think we’d take too seriously the things people say when going through a bitter divorce,” Caldwell finalized.

People still watch TV?
This guy is a moron plain and simple. Class is a thing of the past with him. Oh well.
sounds like if he’s horny and angry at the same time???
You’ve got to be doing something right to have haters!
I had to actually Google his name to find out who he is. I’ve never heard of him before and never heard of his show. Sorry…he’s a nobody in my world. For the fun of it, though, I would love to hear what Bob Lutz thinks of him and his Cadillac musing.
I just revisited this ordeal… he just needs to shit up and relax. Or get laid. Either one would result in him shutting up.
And im not really sure if he knows how to operate a car….
The trick here is to both love Cadillac and dig Bourdain, at the same time.
Ive been a Doors/Buick fan for years.
Just takes an open mind.
Ps
Bourdain would have made an awsome Cadillac pichman, he is all cynical and worldy, with enough human weaknesses so no one takes him to seriously, kind of like House.
I beleve the twain meets as far as the intended market for Cadillac.
Did Bourdain want some of that big advertising pie? I know Mike Rowe is the perfect
connect with the everyman for Ford – Bourdain just has too much smartass egomaniac
to be an effective pitchman for any car company – even to Caddy upmarket-seekers.
Tim Allen could do the Rowe thing for GM, I think his presence IN the commercials
would be an improvement over just his voice being ON them.
