Opel/Vauxhall Adam OPC/VXR Rumored To Be In The Pipeline

EVO Magazine is reporting from across the Atlantic that sources have tipped them of an upcoming performance variant of the Opel/Vauxhall Adam, which could potentially enter the fray with the Fiat 500 Abarth and Mini Cooper S.

Speculation is that the proposed Adam VXR/OPC would bring as much as 180 horsepower to the table via an all-new 1.4L turbocharged engine. Note that GM plans on expanding its all-new four cylinder gasoline engine lineup and will introduce a line of turbocharged three-cylinder engines. And if the official word of new engines for the microcar is any indicator, we could very well see at least a concept of a mighty mini sometime next year. Perhaps the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

  1. This car is soooo much better looking than the Sonic/Spark boxes we get!

  2. Just checked the Vauxhall site, that thing looks hot, even without the VXR line. I don’t know how well it would do in the States, but I’d happily buy one (and personally think it looks better than the Sonic).

  6. This would be very cool. But, the best news would be if this new 1.4T would replace the current 138 h.p. 1.4T in all its current applications with a new one that has around 170-180 h.p. Vehicles like the cruze and encore/mokka can sure use it, and this would be great power in the sonic/aveo!
