New Lingenfelter Camaro Retrokits Are A Blast From The Past

So, you can’t find enough retro influences in today’s Chevrolet Camaro. Squint as you might, but it simply doesn’t resemble the looks from 1969. Thankfully, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is here to help with two new retrokits for the fifth-generation Camaro; being the RS and non-RS system kits.

Not including the vehicle or installation, the non-RS system kit prices $6,850, while the price when installed and painted by LPE is $8,550. The more aggressive RS retrokit not installed is $8,150, while it’s $9,750 to be installed in-house.

The non-RS system includes:
– Front fascia
– Lower spoiler
– Standard chrome bumper
– Grille assembly with SS badge
– Two headlight assemblies
– Two lower running light assemblies
– All required mounting brackets
– Wiring harness assembly

The RS system includes:
– Front fascia
– Lower spoiler
– Standard chrome bumper
– Grille assembly with SS badge
– Two headlight assemblies with doors and motors
– Two lower running light assemblies
– All required mounting brackets
– Wiring harness assembly

In addition to the bad-ass body kits, Lingenfelter also offers a plethora of mechanical upgrades on the side, such as an 800 horsepower turbocharged LS7 Camaro L28 engine and performance package. That should account for some impressive skid marks.

  1. I’m sorry, but that is sexy!!! I think it really looks good.

  2. There is something about the small, round headlights on the Camaro that seem to define it. Without them I think the car loses its character.

  3. I drove a 1967 RS Camaro and I crashed it into a telephone pole because my brother worn the tires in nighttime street races and the tires lost their grip during a light rain.

If I had the money I would surely buy a new Camaro with the Lingenfelter RS kit and reconstruct the original RS that I had! I feel bad that Lingenfelter passed away, but his legacy will live on.

  4. Yes, the round headlights do give the Canaro character, but you can’t deny this is a very well done kit. Their Trans Am kit that was at SEMA…..horrible. This kit captures a ’69 very well.

  5. I like it, but those headlights are not round.

  6. Rjion: I think you misunderstood. Someone mentioned round headlights meaning the current Camaro’s headlights, not this one with the kit.

  7. meh, as much as it cost to buy a 5th gen and have the kit and performance work done, you could have bought a REAL 69 and had it built the way you’ve always wanted it.
