EV Version Of Opel Adam Reportedly Scrapped

As it turns out, there’s an Opel/Vauxall Adam EV in the works. Or rather, there was one up until recently, according to Automotive News Europe. The project has recently become stillborn, citing cost as a main reason.

It was reported that the Adam EV project would utilize the technology found in the upcoming Chevy Spark EV, which is still on track for production last we checked. At least there’s still an OPC/VXR version of the Adam on the way.

  1. GM should try to sell the Opel Adam in the U.S. as a market test. Buick handled the Opel brand before, so there is the way to start selling the Adam.
