Go figure that those who own Chevrolet Volts are happy campers. Maybe it’s because General Motors seems to go the extra mile for them. Or simply that the Volt is simply that charming. Of course both factors are at play here, and they’re probably what gave the Volt a back-to-back crown in the Consumer Reports Owner Satisfaction Survey.
The simple question was:Â “Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had it to do all over again?”
Ninety-two percent of Volt owners answered: “Definitely yes.” Impressive.

Talk about a car hitting its market niche right on.
And most of these buyers are previous Toyota owners.
Historically, GM has had trouble trying to score high on CR’s owner satisfaction survey…except for the Volt.
I wonder if GM might approaching all it’s future engineering efforts with the same level of dedication as they had when they designed the Volt.
Or maybe it means the next generation of Voltec needs to be here tomorrow and in different body styles.
The Volt is a sure winner! If not for the asking price, it’d be shaming Priuses in sales
numbers. Prius owners trade in for Volts because they realize they drive 40 miles or less on wkdays like most Americans…and Volt just out-Priuses Prius in every way, even the PIPrius with a plug ( for near the same money ).
Volt is efficient while looking sporty doing it and it has road manners and feels solid – unlike Prius.
Give Volt a decent range-extender next time, and get costs down and Toyota will be
running scared. It’s time American-designed, American-made products shined
in owner satisfaction again….FINALLY…. It’s been a long time coming!
Congrats GM – Congrats Volt team. Owner experience in a Volt is a silent solid ride with 30 ( c-cold climates ) – 50 mile all electric range! Folks just love giving gas stations the finger!
