The Cadillac ATS has so far tasted a dose of success on the market. But it seems to have been at the expense of the larger, older, similarly priced CTS to a degree. We saw this coming, as did Cadillac. In light of this, Cadillac marketing boss Chase Hawkins mentioned to Automotive News that production on the aging CTS will begin to be reduced starting next year.
Eventually, production of the current generation CTS will have to cease altogether, as the world awaits a longer, more high-tech, and pricier next-generation model come the later half of 2013. When this happens, expect a more harmonious relationship between the ATS and its big brother.
