Today is the day that Chevrolet released it’s new trailer on the next-generation Corvette, due to launch in 2013 as a 2014 model. You can watch the first teaser video here.
In the video, mostly shot at GM’s Wind Tunnel facility, we briefly see design sketches, clay shaping, and even the sound of the new ‘Vette’s mighty new 6.2L LT1 V8 engine at idle.
Kirk Bennion, the Corvette’s exterior design manager, also gives us insightful commentary as the video plays out, citing that “beautiful form follows performance-driven function”. After that, the screen reads “Every Line Matters.” Ooohhh, is it getting warm in here? Why are we sweating? Oh, that’s right. Because C7 Corvette.
See the dramatic footage for yourself just below. For kicks, the top YouTube comment currently reads:
“If Chevy was a chick that teased me like that, I’d excuse myself to the bathroom and leave her without a ride home.”

It teases me so. I can’t wait to see it. I think this will be the corvette to make me change my mind and want to get one. That being said, I’m starting to get that slight sense of doubt where “what if it’s not great? what if it actually kind of sucks?” I doubt it, but I do wish to see more of this beautiful piece of work.
Has anyone actually died of anticipation? They’re killing me.
The anticipation has wounded me some. Not sure if I will be able to make it until 1/13/13 with all the teasing 😉
LOL I doubt they took any shortcuts w this car, the only thing some may not like is its design but who knows, bet ur ass this cars interior will be much much nicer and sophisticated, and of course performance only gets better
I remember when the C6 came out, and I hated everything about it. I thought it was dumb how there wasn’t pop up headlights and the rear glass wasn’t a notchback and other small things of the sort. Now I’ve had several, about 4, and one is sitting in the front yard now. I love the current Corvette and though I’ll probably not like the new one’s design at first, it’ll grow on me.
I can’t wait to see the new one.
