You can purchase a GM-branded vehicle in Japan at more than 3,000 retailers. Except they aren’t automobiles. And the retailers aren’t car dealerships. They’re bicycles, and bicycle retailers. Yes, General Motors has a strong hold… on the Japanese bicycle market, with the most popular brand, ironically, being Hummer.
Now if only they could do something about car sales…

Interesting , but GM is not building the bikes, just licencing the names, correct?
I’m under the impression that this is just a sticker-job on a bike and that the only involvement GM had in the whole thing was giving licence to the printer.
And this boosts the brand how exactly? Anything for a buck.
I have a GMC bike that I picked up a couple years ago. I do believe it is manufactured by someone else and just has the GMC logo on it, but it’s a nice bike. I was concerned ride, style, comfort, and price. And it hit my desires on all four criteria. Frankly, I didn’t even notice that it was a GMC until I got it home.
