67,414 GM Sedans Recalled In Canada For Power Steering Issues

Some 67,414 sedans consisting of the 2005, 2006 and 2008 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx models as well as Pontiac G6 vehicles and 2008 Saturn Aura have been recalled in Canada. The reason is that Transport Canada says that the power steering system is under risk of failure, making steering much more difficult if the system were to fail. Should such a thing happen, a chime and an illuminated warning light would display on the instrument panel. It doesn’t seem that U.S. vehicles are involved in the recall just yet.

GM has agreed to replace the steering column in 2005 and 2006 models, while 2008 vehicles will receive new power steering motor control modules. You can view the complete recall notice from Transport Canada below for more information.

And he is pissed, Fixes and immediately trades in for a foreign make. I was like dude what happened to the BU, he said his wife was driving and it failed, she did not feel safe driving it.
