When development on the Corvette C7 began, many were hoping that the car would have an interior that could finally match up with the car’s amazing bang-for-buck performance. By glancing at these spy photos from Inside Line, it’s clear that the C7 is a huge change-up for the better compared to the outgoing model.
Just look at those seats. And is that an all-digital instrument panel we see? That steering wheel looks pretty good, too. And it’s still a year away from being in showrooms. *sigh*

2013 will be the year of the V8 at GM. New Tahoe/Suburban, Silverado, Corvette….
Its loooking good
XTS….not
There are some interesting details revealed in the LLN photos. In picture 7, you can see the car in the back left with it’s tailgate up. This proves that the corvette is ditching the full glass clamshell for a more traditional (and much lighter) liftback. Also, the rear lights are going to stay round, not the reported change to the square lights from the Camaro. I’m very interested in seeing what the final product looks like.
don’t forget the SS sedan too! 🙂

Great observation on the hatch, terpinator. The tail lights will not be round, though. Take a look at the video below–at 1:02 . They will most likely have LEDs in them that are arranged in a circle, however.

The seats look like they could be from Sabelt (supplies seats to Ferrari and the new Viper). Can’t see any evidence of an all digital IP, but seeing as the one on the C4 wasn’t very well received, I don’t see why they’d try it again. Steering wheel appears to be a 3 spoke design, but the major thing on the steering column is that the old-style GM combo turn signal/cruise control stalk appears to have been banished from the Corvette, which is a good thing, IMO. Perusing the other shots, the brakes are pretty beefy, which means these might be Grand Sport mules (or the base car is getting some serious brake hardware).
Regarding Corvette seats, the majority of new corvettes are purchased by retired guys, many of whom have “large/x-large posteriors”. If you only offer “full-on” racing style seats, you will lose these buyers. I expext there to be a “standard” type seat and one maybe two other options for those who go to the track.
I am not sure who the “average” vette buyer is, but I am in favor of the cushy seats. The last time I took my car across country they were much more pleasant to ride around in than my regular pure racing seats. And if you do it right, it is not all that hard to swap them out. Personally, I would prefer to purchase my own seats for racing.
