GM’s Opel–Vauxhall plant in Figueruelas, Zaragoza, Spain just celebrated its 30th anniversary, having produced over 11 million cars over its lifetime.
Currently, the plant employs around 6,000 workers and produces the Corsa five-door and Meriva — both of which are based on GM’s Gamma II vehicle architecture. More than a total of 4.1 billion euro has been invested in the plant since its inception.
The total production breakdown of the plant in the 30 years of operations includes:
- 9,161,725 units of Corsa (started in 1982)
- 1,331,966 units of Meriva
- 213,369 units of Combo
- 250,728 units of Tigra
- 153,908 units of Kadett
- 52,731 units of Astra
