Cadillac ATS Deliveries Delayed Due To OnStar Glitch

Cadillac customers are probably wondering why there’s no ATS models on the lot. And frankly, so were we. As it turns out, the compact luxury vehicles are being held up at the Lansing Grand River plant due to an OnStar software glitch. What’s more, is that this issue is not exclusive to the ATS, but rather another 60,000 vehicles on dealer lots. The other affected models include the 2012-2013 model year Buick Verano, Cadillac XTS and SRX; Chevrolet Cruze; Equinox and Volt, along with GMC Terrain models.

The bug involves OnStar’s crash notification system in sending an alert to the OnStar call center in collisions that are not powerful enough to discharge the airbags. However, the software glitch does not affect the crash notification system in more intense scenarios that would otherwise cause the airbags to deploy.

Luckily, GM spokespeople state that the situation should go beyond no longer than the coming week.

  2. I finally drove ATS today…..nice car…….it was not base…so had the fogs. Lovely. I liked the dash and trimwork……not sure about all the black for interior as it is small….I could not tell a lot of difference between it and Verano…..the Verano felt bigger and more luxurious I think……I do like the rear very much and the front/headlights….elegant and very much Cadillac. Has anyone else driven? I’d like to hear what others think about it 🙂
