Continuing the restructuring of Opel is the addition of two new members, Michael Lohscheller and Michael Ableson.
Lohscheller will begin the role of Opel/Vauxhall Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer beginning September 1, 2012. Lohscheller succeeds Mark James who has elected to leave the company to pursue other business opportunities, according to an Opel press release.
Ableson, who is the GM Europe Vice President of Engineering as of July 18, 2012 has been named the Management Board member in charge of Engineering. Ableson succeeds Rita Forst, who has left the company.

Opel needs to reduce labor costs dramatically. As the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER individually represents the highest cost of labor this position has been eliminated.
