LS3 Crate Engine Now Available For Ordering

If there’s a pro touring project in your garage waiting for a brand new engine to lay in between the frame rails, Pace Performance is now offering a complete 6.2L LS3 V8 as a crate engine to fit in whatever vehicle you find appropriate. To put it another way, that’s a fully assembled 376 cubic inches, 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque to fit into your ’69 Camaro.

With the engine also comes a limited 2 year/50,000 mile parts & labor warranty. And for $6,389.95 plus shipping, you can have it just before summer is over.

The crate LS3 engine includes the following right out of the box:
• Fully GM assembled long block
• Ignition coils, wiring and spark plugs
• Oil pump, pick-up and Corvette oil pan
• Exhaust manifolds
• Intake,injectors and throttle body
• 14″ auto trans flexplate
• Harmonic balancer
• Front timing cover
• Aluminum water pump
• Oil filter
• Passenger Side RH oil dipstick and tube

If a stock LS3 isn’t enough, Chevrolet Performance Parts (formally GM Performance Parts) serves up the LS376, which is literally an LS3 with a cam swap. By replacing the stock camshaft for the racing-inspired LS Hot Cam, the LS376 pushes the output to 480 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque for $7,996.25.

  2. Are the previous crate offerings as complete?

  3. Yes. Same componets that came on the engine in 2008 are on it today. Went back through my GMPP catalogs and they were first avalible as crate engines in the 2008 catalog.

  5. there is this 1 (430 HP) and the 480 HP version (Hot Cam) and the HOT 525 HP version that is the newest, with proper shopping you can get the 525 HP (ASA style Hot Cam and LS7 heads) for under $7600 ! (there is also a “carburetor” LS3 @ 515 HP) it is complete except for fluids- basically “Plug and Play” ! (not the “carb” motor) ! and yes they will go into any LS1, LS2, LS3 RWD! be careful you may need the harness too & they are around $1000 – $1200 “but” they may not play the factory gauges, aftermarket gauges are everywhere, always check with your GM dealer !

      1. LS3 heads are 12629063. 12604860 is the LSA HEAD.

  6. apparently there is a description difference on the LS3 525 HP engine, the heads have rectangular ports “borrowed” from the LS7. so they may have a completely different part number….

  7. Yes LS3 cylinder head is a similar design to the LS7. The LS3 heads have smaller valves and smaller ports. 2012 performance parts catalog list all the naturally aspirated 6.2 L having the same cylinder heads. The LS7 cylinder head requires a minimum bore of 4.100 inches. The 6.2 L has a bore of 4.065 inches
