General Motors is recalling 44,668 Chevy Sonic subcompact cars due to a defect in the vehicle’s windshield washer system. The recall covers specific 2012 Sonics produced from May 5, 2011 through February 24, 2012.
According to GM, the hose connecting the washer fluid reservoir to the fluid outlets can detach, thereby preventing the washer fluid from reaching the windshield — a feature of vital importance as it allows the driver to clean a dirty windshield that could inhibit visibility.
General Motors will notify owners of affected Sonics — currently the best-selling subcompact car in the United States; dealers will secure the hose to prohibit it from separating from the fluid reservoir free of charge. The recall is expected to launch around September 7.

If this is the Sonic’s largest issue, I’m pretty impressed with the quality of it. And even the larger Cruze, which I believe has had five major recalls since its debut, has many redeeming traits.
I’ve always thought the production Sonic wasn’t very pretty when compared to its concept but today I saw an Blue Topaz Metallic LTZ Sonic hatchback and it was amazingly pretty.
I fixed the wiper issue my self with a zip tie. I’m not waiting for hours to sit in the customers lounge for a disconnected hose lol.
if you have any questions on how to email me it is simple an 8 year old could do it.!
