Chevy Captiva Sport Gets Updated For 2013: RPO Central

For the 2013 model year, Chevy is giving its compact fleet-only crossover a slight refresh, the most prominent of which includes the discontinuation of the 3.0 liter V6 engine in the vehicle, the addition of Rear Park Assist as well as a self-dimming inside rearview and driver-side mirrors. Other than that, the Captiva Sport remains the same Saturn Vue/Opel Antara we’ve all come to know and love.

Fuel economy mode:
- Vehicles with a 2.4L engine have a Fuel Economy Mode. When engaged, fuel economy mode can improve the vehicle’s fuel economy
- Press the “eco” (economy) button by the shift lever to turn this feature on or off. The “eco” light in the instrument cluster will come on when engaged. A Driver Information Center (DIC) message “ECO MODE ON” is also displayed.
- When Fuel Economy Mode is on:
- The transmission will upshift sooner and downshift later
- The torque converter clutch will apply sooner and stay on longer
- The gas pedal will be less sensitive
- The vehicle’s computer will more aggressively shut off fuel to the engine under deceleration
- The engine idle speed will be lower
- Driver performance is more conservative

I’d go for one if I could get a new one and redeem my GM credit card points. Don’t understand the whole business model. I’m not going to settle for an Equinox.
