Chevrolet Lechi To Be Rebadged As Baojun Model For China

You’re probably asking yourself: what’s a Chevrolet Lechi and can it help me lose weight? Fear not, dear readers, for it’s a miniature machine built by SAIC-GM-Wuling and sold in China, that will be sold under the new Baojun brand going forward.

GM says that the Baojun Lechi will feature 54 product upgrades from the Chevrolet model, with a powertrain upgrade that yields 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers of fuel consumption, making buyers eligible for Chinese government’s energy-saving subsidy and energy-saving tax exemptions.

For the time being, the Baojun and Chevrolet Lechi models will be sold in the same showroom together, as the transition gets underway.

  1. Good move. Let’s get rid of all “non true GM” products and relegate them to non-core brands… like Baojun.

    1. Do you just throw about the terms ‘commie’, ‘capitalist’, ‘fascist’, and ‘hippie’ without actually thinking about what you’re trying to say?

I mean, is it really ‘commie talk’ to offer tax breaks for fuel efficient powertrains; or was that just a knee jerk reaction to fuel and enviromental benefits offered by a nation who’s policies on such matters you disagree with?
