Toyota seems to be back at full strength this year, and is wasting no time in attempting to reclaim its former title as the world’s largest automaker. Case in point, global-leading first half sales of 4.97 million vehicles. Meanwhile, current title-holder General Motors comes in at 4.67 million vehicles sold through the first six months of 2012. That’s a split of 300,000 units globally. Meanwhile, Volkswagen encroaches GM with 4.45 million units.
Will The General close the gap with the Japanese giant? We’ll have to check back in a few months.
