This Is The Holden Malibu

When it launches next year in Oz, the Chevrolet Malibu will trade its twin-port grille for a more open-mouth front fascia, and its Bow Tie for a lion seal as it is introduced into the marketplace as the Holden Malibu. Don’t forget about the right-hand-drive part.

  1. I still think most of the press has lost their minds. From the front (and not in ECO trim) this car is truly a looker. I do, however, hate the tail lights. Why couldn’t they have done some sort of LED application of a Cruze like lamp? I feel like the Cruze is the best looking of the current lineup and wish they had continued with the classy, crisp, look.

  4. I don’t for the life of me understand how the press has grabbed this car (Chevy version) and painted it so poorly, I love it.

  5. I don’t see any tail lights. I tried looking at the back of my IPad and still no tail lights.

  9. I’m the Inventory Manager at a Chevy dealer. I’m also an avid Toyota-hater. Everyone at the dealership teased me saying that the new Malibu looked like a Camry. I kept arguing against them. I saw the picture of the “Holden” Malibu in my email this morning and though, why is there a picture of a Camry in here? I guess I was wrong…

      1. To me I think this version looks sportier than the ones that we’re getting here….. and didn’t you guys said that Holden will have a special suspension tuneup for Malibu Alex?

        1. If it looks sportier, then I don’t see it. It’s a different grille with two extra lines flanking each side.

The more pertinent question is whether “sporty” sells in volumes in the midsize mainstream segment. It does not.

          1. I thought I saw side skirts going on…. but over here where I live I always see the Camry SE instead of the ones with the Base and top of the line. Also those Fusion Sport.

  11. Just call it a Chevy and be done with it. It’s common sense that anyone who truly cares about Holden nowadays are the Commodore and Ute owners. Those who buy a Malibu, Spark, Aveo, Captiva, Colorado or TrailBlazer/Colorado 7 could not care less.
