The latest commercial for the XTS starts with the following: bumpers cars are fun… when you’re in a bumper car. But when you’re in a luxury sedan like the Cadillac XTS, the last thing you want to do is bump anything. So to avoid bumping things, GM engineers incorporated short-, mid-, and long-range radars and ultra-sonic sensors in order to create an automatic braking system that is capable of applying its own brakes.
And in now-typical Cadillac fashion, the ad is quick to point out that the XTS’ intelligent braking technology is not even available in an Audi A6. The Wreath and Crest then admits — in a very tongue-in-cheek fashion — that the inclusion of the intelligent braking system takes the fun out of bumper cars. Hubba-hubba!
