After sweeping the podium in racing one and going one-two in the second race in Curitiba, Brazil, the Chevrolet WTCC racing team continued their routine of making the rest of the competition look like a couple of underfunded high school vo-tec club programs.
Yvan Muller, Alain Menu and Rob Huff went a respective 1-2-3 in Race 1, while Huff and Menu made it a 1-2 in Race 2, with Yvan finishing 4th.
There was also the Bamboo Engineering team, which also uses the Cruze, taking 5th and 6thin Race 1 with Michel Nykjær and Alex McDowall respectively. Nykjær then went (6th) in the second race.
Chevrolet further increased its advantage in the Manufacturers’ standings, while the fight for the Drivers’ crown will be fought amongst the Chevy drivers, as only 27 points separates the three of them.
Now the team can catch a well-earned vacation before showing up in Sonoma, California on the 21-23 of September, marking the first ever WTCC race in the United States.

Sonoma………………….wish I could go.
Chevy is shutting down the factory team next year, right?
Right.
And will apparently be seeking residence at some bullshit NASCAR series with the Camaro instead. It’s clear that Chevrolet/GM doesn’t want technological development from racing…it wants advertisement.
