Here’s How The Chevy Camaro Sounds With A Pypes Exhaust

Happy Independence Day! While your family, friends, and other connaissance (French for acquaintances) are bombing up the sky with fireworks, you can make your Camaro the center of next year’s festivities by strapping on an exhaust from Pypes to make some (gratifying) sounds yourself in 2013.

The Pypes Exhaust, which sells for under $300 and goes on in about 45 minutes, features a uniquely-louvered core with resonated dual-wall stainless steel tips, resulting in a deep muscle car growl without the popping or droning found in many other kits.

Here are four videos of the affordable axle-back system in action on a 2010 Camaro SS:

Pretty mean-sounding, right? And yes, we agree that the folks at Pypes should look into improving the production quality of their demonstrations just a tad… because it’s the 21st century — and grainy vids are so 1998.

  2. In looking at all of the new SS, Camaro and especially Vettes, it is disturbing to me that there are so many more visible seams where body parts meet on these new cars. Not only does it take away from a “seamless” look, but provides many more cracks for waxes and polishes to get in and result in white lines when they dry. They may have a reason for building them this way but they look cheap compared to a nice seamless, flowing fender. What were they thinking? Seams should be out of sight like they have been in the past ! Maybe they would be cheaper to repair, but I would forgo that in favor of looks. The Pypes appear to me like the old $20 Glas-paks we used to use as kids in the ’60’s.
